My Penis is hungry
I loved it when Asoke and Suk corner was a bunch of bars drowning in mud, some of my best experiences happened there,
Coss
I liked it when the seafood restaurant was on the corner near there.
Flashermac
Was that the restaurant that was always in trouble for overcharging tourists? The price might say something like "from 1,000 to 4,000 baht". If you were Thai, you'd be charged 1,000, Farangs 2,000, and Japanese probably 4,000. The Bangkok law says you have to mark your prices clearly - not deliberately vague.
Coss
I don't remember price, too long ago
Vintage_Kwai
It was expensive but was the biggest seafood place around. You could have gone to the Pratunam corner but less ambience. The roller skate restaurant Tum Nak Thai was also just around the corner. Anyone remember NASA spacedrome near Ramkamphaeng? (the locals pronounced it as 'spae cee drome')
Coss
NASA, jeez I'd forgotten about that. Didn't they have a whole spaceship shaped device that descended from the roof?

I never went to the Soi24 outlet after going once to old place and getting the bill.
Palatkik
The roller skate restaurant Tum Nak Thai was also just around the corner. As I recall it was on Rachadaphisek Rd near where all the soapies are now? Used to be full of garden resuarants on stilts over watery swampland and Tum Nak Thai was the biggest. They moved out to BangNa Trat highway when the swamps on Rachadaphisek Rd got concreted over.
Flashermac
Some Thai colleagues took me there once. You could call in your meal and it would be delivered on skate. Long gone now, though some websites stir insist on listing it. http://www.efootage.com/clip_list.php?query=tamnak-thai+restaurant The NASA Spacedrome was where the coloured whirling light ball came loose one day and killed a few people on the dance floor. They paid the victims' families and tried to keep it as quiet as possible.
