Plainsdrifter
Saudi Arabia didn't officially ban slavery until the early 1960s. I remember it in the news when JFK was president. But unofficially, slavery is very much practiced in Saudi Arabia. Problem is most of the laws followed there are oral so a spokesman can solemnly announce at the UN that a law has outlawed slavery. Mekong
If you had said "not one Gulf country is offering any refuge" then you would probably have been correct. Munchie, you missed out Saudi Arabia's offer to build 200 Mosques in Germany http://www.arabianbusiness.com/saudi-offers-build-200-mosques-in-germany-for-syrian-refugees-605755.html If I was still a British Tax Payer I would be organising campaigns to fill the Channel Tunnel with Concrete, Razor Wire and Pill boxes all along the South Coast and remobilise the Home Guard (Dad's Army) Britain is FULL, Schools and Hospitals bursting at the seams, lack of social housing, property prices surging through the roof, Local Council services being reduced due to austerity measures etc. Britain is bankrupt and I am glad I got out of 25 years ago
