My Face Book page has suddenly decided it should appear in Japanese. And no, I wasn't looking at Japanese porn either (this time). There must be a way to set the language, but since everything is in Japanese, I can't read the damned thing to find it!

Go to the tab right had top corner (small triangle) scroll down to eighth item

Then on the left hand side there is a list of icons. The fifth is language

click on that and the top setting is language

Thanks. I stumbled on it eventually. I was trying to figure out the Japanese, when I final saw the language selection box.

A few minutes ago, my FB decided to go Portuguese. And no, I hadn't clicked on anything near the language area. I wonder what language FB will choose for me next.

This is not only a facebook problem. When I*m in Thailand I'm often redirected to pages in Thai which I don't understand. This aparently is due to the fact that th ip adress shows where you are. How you could be resirected to a Japanese I don't understand.

I've had a few issues in the past when using google search, if I stumped up in Thailand, the google search sometimes appeared in Thai, as it assumed that if I was in Thailand, I was brimming with Thainess and wanting to get on with it. But that was only google. The rest of my system (Mac) stayed true.

 

May I make the temeritous suggestion that along with attempting to force Win 10 on youse, Microsoft has fallen into the trap of assuming your language? Who knows, you might get ladies advertisements.

 

Or is it just Facebook?
