Thailand's Tallest Building Mahanakhon Could Be Illegal Because A Foreigner Designed It

I have a friend who's a top level UK lawyer. He worked for a few years in a Thai law firm, but obviously he could never appear before the court. (Only Thai nationals may practice law here.) He told me that virtually everything thing done by the firm in those years had been written and prepared by him (with a Thai's name on it). The Mahanakorn folks big mistake was to brag about the concrete prong being designed by a foreigner. They should have listed the German as an "advisor".

Ya reckon architects are the sort to take that shit lying down. I'd say the only way they ever get involved with the big jobs is to be able to stamp their name on it. It's the architectural world equivalent of a CV.

This will just disappear into the noise.

What other buildings, office towers, shopping malls with Thai names on them achieve world recognition, and why?
