panadolsandwich
Flashy, I think I made that point already, so no real reason to reply except to point out 'a priori'., i.e from the former post. Perhaps we should lobby our respective governments to reciprocate?
nkped
Keeping the riffraff out is one thing, but all foreign residents have to make the 90-day reports, including lecturers at government-supported universities and other Thai government employees. It's not just retired people. Imagine the reaction in Thailand if the US or Australian decided to require all Thai residents to report to immigration every 90 days or be fined. If it was as easy for a Thai to get permission to stay for one year in the US, renewable indefinitely, as it is for us to stay in Thailand, I suspect they would gladly do 90 day reports.
