panadolsandwich
This was on one of the morning shows. Found a link here: http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/1155565/tuk-tuk-driver-friend-accused-of-raping-australian-woman The police have CCTV footage of the women prior to the attack. She is seen with a friend walking very unsteady down the Khao San Road. At one point she braced herself for an imminent fall against a noodle street cart and was seen to be thwarting her lady friends attempts to help her. She had clearly had to much to drink and should have been taken safely home to where her lodgings were. It's unclear whether her friend abandoned her to the Tuk-tuk jackals, who then saw fit to take her to a 'nail' house where she was repeatedly abused. Police are hunting down the perps, but it appears they've gone to ground like the very vermin they are. An emotional old local woman made a heart felt plea to the general public, to 'skin these scum alive'. [i wouldn't wish to get on her bad side]

bust
This sounds about right....... Bangkok police have doubts over Australian woman's rape claim Image: Daily News BANGKOK:-- Police have now revealed they are as yet uncertain of an Australian woman's claims that she was raped by two tuk-tuk drivers last week. Following a meeting of top brass and Taling Chan police met chief Sanit Mahathavorn said that he had ordered all CCTV footage along the route from Khao Sarn Road to the site of the alleged rape on waste ground behind a building in Boromratchachonanee Road to be thoroughly checked. And he said that police were still waiting on rape test results and that they would not know for two weeks if the 21 year old woman's claims were correct. Named only as "Yaya" she said earlier that she was very drunk and had been taken by one driver then met by another before being physically assaulted then raped by the two men. Thai news sources reported Friday that rape had been confirmed but police now cast doubt on this. Sanit said that 20 tuk-tuk had been identified as cross the bridge at Pin Klao around the relevant time but only five had gone in the further direction where the alleged crime took place. These five vehicles and their registered owners were being thoroughly investigated. He order local police to step up their efforts to solve the crime quickly one way or another. But charges of false reporting against the Australian tourist have not been ruled out.
panadolsandwich
Thai motorcycle taxi driver who predates on inebriated European women and basically owns up to being a serial rapist hands himself in. He claims she was happy to stay in a deserted building in a forlorn part of Bangkok in the dark and alone after they had 'consensual' sex. I'm going to be putting pressure on the Australian government to ensure this scum fuck is properly punished. There are various avenues for doing this. I'm sure Thailand doesn't want this type of thing to damage the tourist industry - and it will if they don't punish this bastard. The Thai police actually did a good job! Very well done guys!!! They stayed on point, when a less professional police would have just said she made it all up. The part where the police where considering filing charges for a false report was a particularly low point, but I think some strings must have been pulled behind closed doors, and they got there man - well, if he isn't a stooge I suppose - nothing surprises me anymore.... http://www.abc.net.a...tralian/8128784 Thai man arrested for alleged rape of Australian woman in Bangkok By South East Asia correspondent Liam Cochrane Posted Fri at 7:18pm MAP: Thailand Thai police have arrested a motorcycle taxi driver who is accused of raping an Australian woman earlier this month. The 23-year-old woman told police she had flagged down a tuk-tuk for a ride after drinking heavily, and then she was brought to a deserted building and attacked by two men. Thai police initially appeared to doubt the story, focussing on the woman's intoxicated state. But they later issued an arrest warrant for a 32-year old Thai man identified in security camera footage as a suspect. Ekburut Ritrakkaphan, 32, handed himself in to police on Thursday (local time). He is a motorcycle taxi driver, not a tuk-tuk driver. Mr Ekburut admitted to having sex with the woman but said it was consensual. He told police he often rides his motorcycle to Khaosan Road late at night because he knows it is a good place to find inebriated women to have sex with, according to a report from news site Khaosod English. Mr Ekburut said he abandoned her at the empty building at her request, reported Khaosod English. The woman has not been identified, but is reportedly due to fly back to Australia next week. Flashermac
Some years back there were warnings about a friendly, English speaking Thai guy who'd befriend backpacker gals ... and then rape them. I wonder if they ever caught the guy. (I doubt it.)
