Next step will be opening the America's Cup challenges to power boats. There've been rumours that Oracle have been using electric motors, like the ones used in that corruption-free sport, cycling. How Oracle is using them is open to debate, but thoughts are that they are used to store energy that's then fed into the winching system. Only rumours at this stage.
