" As a denizen of Auckland NZ, arguably a very multicultural city, and with none of the violence or murders seen in the world's biggest cities, I don't think the many cultures in one place is the problem. Our main violent crime problem is sub-adult kids, bashing store owners, when stealing cigarettes, which have become very expensive, due to the taxes from govt, at the behest of the anti smoking brigade. These youths know that if they get caught, they'll be tried as kids and apart from a lot of stern talking and so on, by adults, they'll not go to prison. This of course creates a group of young fellas, who when they turn 18, are already on the road to prison. Cue hand wringing, no clips round the ear as this would be wrong. Back to London. ​Multi culturalism is not the problem, history is littered with examples of Christians and Muslims getting along, they had ruling/governing that encouraged them to do so. ​I reckon that the world's population is too large, some have ended up on the poor and suffering end, of the bell curve, people in that cohort and associated with that cohort, will grasp at religion for hope, and inevitably some, will revert to base behaviour in pursuit of that hope. Base behaviour is present in all. How many of us, in posts on this board even, have said things like, "If anyone attacks my wife/GF/Child/family, I will kill them". We all do. It's natural. These bastards that killed in London and in other attacks, are deluded. If you've not seen the movie Four Lions (2010), it's a revealing work, despite being a comedy and probably in poor taste, this close to the deaths of innocent people.
