Flashermac
Same thing happens in the US. If you're going to live there, become naturalised when you can. Then this can't happen. https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-42330781/the-us-veterans-deported-and-living-in-tijuana
Coss
Just in case you thought the fascists in NZ weren't paying attention to Trump's lot: Air passengers arriving in New Zealand could face fines of $5000 if they refuse to hand over passwords and pins to phones. This "digital strip search" is thought to be the first to be imposed by any country and came into effect on Monday with the 2018 Customs and Excise Act. Travellers who fail to hand over passwords could be fined, prosecuted and have their device confiscated. While the act gives officials new powers to force travellers to hand over passwords, there must be a reasonable suspicion against either the device or the carrier before a warrant can be given.--- https://www.nzherald.co.nz/travel/news/article.cfm?c_id=7&objectid=12136955 These Customs fascists will be using this new power like a new toy, as after they've looked at the phone, they can declare, nothing here and let you go on your way, with only 1/2 a day wasted and your dignity trashed. Moral of the story: buy and maintain a "burner" for travel.
buffalo_bill
Could any NZ expert on this board please study Mr Stick´s comment on the NZ press in his latest Weekly and either confirm his findings or declare him tingtong.
Coss
No expert, I am. Wot Stick says - so true - truer than a true thing and twice as true.

Maybe it's both....the findings are correct AND tingtong at the same time? :)
Coss
What we do for fun in NZ It's not often you hitch a free ferry ride to Waiheke, but that was the case for four surfers who used a bit of Kiwi ingenuity to get to the popular island at high speeds and low costs. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=12143796
Flashermac
Meghan shows off welly-wanging skills in New Zealand https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-46027266 Is this some sort of bizarre Kiwi pastime? Life must be rather boring in NZ.
