New Zealand's scandal-hit National party to investigate safety of female workers

New Zealand’s opposition National party is reeling after its “worst week in living memory”, with leader Simon Bridges announcing a culture inquiry to investigate whether its female employees feel safe at work.

Last week the party threatened to implode after former chief whip Jami-Lee Ross accused Bridges of being a “corrupt politician” and released a phone recording in which the pair discussed the higher value of Chinese MPs over Indians and Bridges described a colleague as “fucking useless”.

Four women then came forward to accuse Ross of bullying, misogynistic and threatening behaviour. The politician, who is married with children, has owned up to two extramarital affairs, including one with another National MP.

Bryce Edwards: The dangerously escalating political scandal wars between Simon Bridges and Jami-Lee Ross

The extraordinary National Party war between Simon Bridges and Jami-Lee Ross, has been spiralling dangerously out of control. The current hostilities could change the long-established reluctance of politicians to delve into the "no go zones" of dealing with allegations of sexual improprieties and political finance corruption.

New Zealand scandal renews fears of China's 'United Front' influence

Authorities investigate alleged corruption with suspected Communist Party links

New Zealand's opposition National Party is reeling after allegations that leader Simon Bridges took donations from an individual with suspected links to the Chinese Communist Party, fueling concern over Beijing's influence in the country.

On Oct. 16, Jami-Lee Ross, then a National party member of parliament, claimed that Bridges illegally accepted 100,000 New Zealand dollars ($67,700) from Chinese businessman Yikun Zhang, and in return added two businessmen to the party's candidate list. The National Party is the largest in the country's parliament.

'Kiwi' nickname not discriminatory, Australian tribunal finds

A New Zealand woman has unsuccessfully argued that she was a victim of racial discrimination after being labelled a "Kiwi" by her colleagues in Australia.

Julie Savage said she was disrespected when her boss and co-workers referred to her as "Kiwi" instead of her name.

However an Australian tribunal ruled that she had not suffered unfair treatment or discrimination at work.

A judge noted that the term was commonly used by New Zealanders themselves.

"Calling a New Zealander a 'Kiwi' is not of itself offensive. 'Kiwi' is not an insult," said Judge Leonie Farrell.

She added that the word was often viewed as a "term of endearment".

It is derived from the name of a flightless bird native to the country.

Ms Savage said the issue had prompted her to resign from her job as a supervisor at Vili's Cakes, a bakery in Adelaide, in 2016.

She later lodged a complaint with the South Australian Employment Tribunal.

But it found no evidence that discrimination laws had been violated.

"[She] did not allege that she suffered unfavourable treatment in respect of the terms of her employment, lack of progression or segregation," Ms Farrell said.

"At its core [her complaint] is not about racism."

The bakery's owner, Vili Milisits, told local media that the "right outcome" had been reached.

So what about calling a gay New Zealander a kiwi fruit?

Shock as New Zealand shields Muslim Terrorists at the UN

New Zealand is defending the Hamas terror organization at the United Nations.
Shame on New Zealand that has joined Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Somalia, Afghanistan, Syria, Morocco and other terrorist states in an attempt to overthrow a historic UN resolution to condemn Islamic terrorism.

Once again, the United Nations chose to promote and defend Islamic terrorism.
The United Nations General Assembly voted on Thursday December 6, 2018, against a resolution to condemn the Hamas Islamic terrorist organization over its rocket attacks on Israel, its digging of terror tunnels, and launching of incendiary balloons and burning kites at Israeli communities in the Gaza envelope.

Nations at the UN could vote for, vote against, or abstain from, a resolution. The options of shield, or defend, are not part of the voting process, despite the incendiary language of the article you've linked to.

So NZ did not shield as you say, merely an abstention. So patently bullshit, for this Cavanami, you earn a Donald.
