Germans shaken by series of violent immigrant attacks

Conviction of Ali Bashar for rape and murder of 14-year-old sparks fresh round of debate

The fallout from Germany’s 2015 refugee crisis has returned to the dock after a 22-year-old Syrian man was handed a life sentence on Wednesday for raping and murdering a 14-year-old girl last year.

The conviction of Ali Bashar, who arrived in Germany with his family in 2015 with more than one million others, has sparked a fresh round of soul-searching in the country over immigration and public safety.

The court in the southwestern city of Wiesbaden ordered Bashar to serve at least 15 years before being considered for parole for the killing of Susanna Feldmann.

Bashar confessed to killing the girl but denied raping her. She went missing on May 22nd 2018, sparking a huge police search. Weeks later her body was found in brush near a railway line near her home city of Mainz. Around her neck, investigators found her jacket had been tied in a knot 8cm thick...

Nothing more fresh available  than from July 2019?

Anyhow, thank you for bringing up the case. First quarter 2019 13 people were killed by immigrants, 5 of them possibly blonde Arians and the rest black or brown and therefore do not really count am I right Cav?

While researching I came across this :

Annual Gun Violence Impacting People of All Ages in the U.S.

Every year, 113,108 people are shot. Among those:

  • 36,383 people die from gun violence
  • 12,830 are murdered

I agree with your findings that the US are doing ok, at least from an undertakers point of view.

Merkel Expects 60-70 Per Cent of Germans to be Infected With Coronavirus

Parliament falls silent as German Chancellor drops shocking number.

News outlet Bild reported the German Chancellor’s comments, which echoed numbers forecast by Berlin virologist Christian Drosten, who added that such a total could take 2 years or longer to reach.

Given the fact that coronavirus has a mortality rate of around 1 per cent, this could equate to over half a million deaths, although new methods of fighting the virus could reduce this number.

The World Health Organization’s director general, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus claimed that the death rate was higher at 3.4 per cent, although this has been disputed.

Germany, which has recorded 1,565 coronavirus cases and two deaths so far, has yet to impose the kind of quarantine measures seen in Italy, where the entire country has been placed on lockdown.

German health authorities have said that people should avoid attending concerts, clubs or football games to limit the spread of the illness.
