Hi,

"Anyhow, anybody is free to harm oneself to his hearts content."

Unfortunately, by not getting a vaccine they are not just harming themselves, but also the rest of us. The longer the virus keeps circulating, the higher the chance a strain emerges which cannot be stopped by the current vaccines.

Sir,

you may come across people saying that the efficient vaccines inspire the virus to develop strains that beat the opposition. Such as vaccinated people still can carry a high virusload and infect other people without developing symptoms themselves. At the end of the day a vaccination seems to make fairly sure that there is no serious consequence of an infection. ( Intense care , death ). Enough for me.

Govt Calls In Private Sector To Import 25m Jabs As Outbreak Worsens

Facing a Delta-driven outbreak of more than 20,000 cases daily, and barely 6 per cent of the population fully vaccinated, Thailand is finally handing its private sector the means to import vaccines directly...

Since sinovac is ineffective against Delta, 6% is the wrong number. It is much less for effective vaccination.

Further mass testing 'could cut cases'

Covid-19 infections in Bangkok remain a serious concern although the curve could be brought down with further mass testing rounds in the next two weeks, says the Public Health Ministry.

The latest mass tests in the capital and surrounding provinces were carried out by 41 teams of 400 doctors and medical workers between Aug 1-10, according to Yongyot Thammawut, deputy public health permanent secretary.

Notes to Public Health Ministry

Mass Testing does not cut cases, Mass Vaccination does

Mass Testing will show an increase in the number of cases not a decrease, the more you test the more you find

A few thousand tests in a Mega City does not constitute “”Mass Testing” maybe a couple of million tests would.

The Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) has postponed its procurement of 8.5 million antigen test kits, each costing 70 baht, to test their quality after their ability to detect Covid-19 infections was cast into doubt.

so either

Test kits are useless just like Sinovac

Test Kits show too many people have Covid

Someone is not getting the right back handed from this deal
