Tom should get a gong, a knighthood at the very least.

Trump is crazy like a fox.

You may have missed it, but he just played the Democrats like a Stradivarius.  By saying that he, the President, had the authority to tell them when they would release their lockdowns, he caused every Democrat state governor, not to mention the DNC and the Speaker of the House and the Senate Minority Leader, and their various henchmen and yes-men and sycophants, to scream "NO YOU DON'T!  YOU AREN'T A KING!  *WE*, THE GOVERNORS OF THE STATES, ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT GET TO SAY THAT!"

And Trump immediately backed down and let them celebrate their "victory".

What the Democrats completely failed to see coming is that they have now signed up for total and complete responsibility for all the damages done by the lockdowns, and by releasing them early or late.

And the best laugh of all?  All 50 states are now aiming to start reopening on May 1, the exact date Trump named.  Some will get their sooner: Florida is scheduled to start reopening their beaches in the next day or three.  Texas is about to start reopening on a similar timeframe.  Even New York is now talking about reopening at the end of this month.

You may love Trump or you may hate him, but the one thing you don't dare do is underestimate him.

  • Thanks 1

Well first of all, if you take anything Bolt says at face value you are contemptible.

Also I would caution anyone not to politicize this crisis we are all going through.  We will get through this, and all the better if we can refrain from making ignorant racist comments.

I would like to remind you of this - was Bolt ever seen in Wuhan?  If so, when and where was his visa issued?  It seems tiresome to point out his obvious connection to Murdoch and Trump.

It is a series of job postings for the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Among other things, it strongly suggests that the Institute has been working with bat coronaviruses for quite some time.

And so what if they were working on medical research?  I mean SARS must have scared the living shit out of them.  I'd be more concerned if they *weren't* studying viruses.

Meanwhile the US completely fucked up their response, which can be mathematically proven.  I mean the US have been desperately casting around for anyone to blame except themselves.  Someone obviously told Trump to stop calling it the China virus because it would damage a more subtle propaganda response - which is what we are seeing now.  But it's so hillbilly stupid I can't even believe they're trying it on.

I would be very surprised if he doesn't. Over £23 million now!

Not to belittle this guy, who is truly amazing in so many ways, what a life he has lived for sure, and its clear that what he is doing is both selfless and humbling in many ways yet I can't help feel some nagging questions are being missed in the rush to hip hip this wonderful chap.

For a country with a supposedly solid welfare system built on the backs of taxpayers sweat and apparently one, so those in charge would have us believe, is well prepared and well able to fight the fight, all good measures being taken by the genpop of course. Why then this need for charity? What does this add to the big picture apart from some intrinsic feel good factor? Not that there is anything wrong with feelgood in and of itself.

It strikes me that all of these things, apparently good deeds done by the dozen, do little more overall than to deflect attention from where it counts, holding politicians and civil servants feet to the fire 24/7/365 to just get it done.
