There's been precious little drinking going on this board bar, so let me, help a bit.

G'day,

Since the Stroke (July 2017) I've been at pains to be 98~99% of normal from before.

If I am realistic, it's 75~80%. Still, mostly the good bits.

Last August I bought a 700ml bottle of Glenfiddich for my 60th birthday, with the intention of not drinking too much of it.

I had three drinks from it, until now, and when I looked at it yesterday, there was about 1/4 of the bottle left. I decided to get another, 1litre this time.

So I post a photo of this drink, the last 175ml from the August bottle,  to hope that you'll share with me the appreciation of a good scotch . Yes I know, big glass....

So cheers, my good fellows and ladies, I hope you are well and that we'll get to sup a wee dram at some point in the next years.

cheers  Coss.

It's no wonder the Scots invented so much stuff. Good whisky has the most amazing power to free the mind to the extent even the most preposterous constructs seem utterly plausible, you've only to look at the stuff invented by Scotsmen over the centuries and its not hard to imagine whisky had to be involved at some point.

And that's only the really famous and useful stuff, what about all the other shite, like deep fried Mars bars, sheep cloning, fer fecks sake, you'd think the fecking Kiwi's might have come up with that one but chances are they don't all sit around at uni wi a boatil goin "oh I know lets photocopy a feckin sheep!" But you just know in Scotland that's how it started.

I go through different phases, with different scotch.  Currently it's Talisker as my favorite.

Every year when I leave from my visit to the states my son and I share the better part of a bottle of JW Blue, If I can ever leave the states back to Thailand we will partake

I flew back to Thailand a few years ago on JAL, and a Russian couple was sitting next to me. I noticed the hostess had one small bottle of Glenfiddich and knew immediately what I wanted. But the effing Russian grabbed it first, and I had to settle for Jim Beam. Then to add insult to injury, the bleeding Russian took a couple of sips of Glenfiddich and decided he didn't like it. He just poured it into his cup and it went to waste. No wonder Hitler attacked the fucking Russians!  :angryfire:

One of these days, I am going to break down and buy another bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label, the nectar of the gods.

I have got no idea why anyone would pay £130 for a bottle of blended whisky, no matter what colour the label is!

I can get 3 quality single malts for that price, including my favourite Caol Ila 12 yo, and probably still have some change!

I can remember when the NZ peso equivalent of £130 would get me two bottles of good single malt and two long-times incl barfine. And yes, this century! 2011~2013 :)

not all at once mind
