Bubi, thank you.

I'm not sure I'm bright enough, to understand the jargon and the processes behind the thought, in the linked to,  article, but I cut to the chase and the paragraph:

"Uncoordinated phase 3 trials do not satisfy public health requirements; platform trials designed to address public health relevant questions with a common protocol will allow decisions to be made, informed by common criteria and uniform assessment. These considerations on efficacy and effectiveness are based on studies measuring prevention of mild to moderate COVID-19 infection; they were not designed to conclude on prevention of hospitalisation, severe disease, or death, or on prevention of infection and transmission potential. Assessing the suitability of vaccines must consider all indicators, and involve safety, deployability, availability, and costs."

And my conclusion is, if the clever folk, wot do this, reckon the vaccines, they want to stick in me, are better to have, than not, I'll take them.

Would I get vaccinated for Chicken Pox, Measles etc? Of course, and I have been.

But I can see that simple folk may worry, MLG, surfing the void that is 'InyaFaceYouTwit', was worried after a report that a couple of 92 yr olds had died after the vaccine was administered.

When I pointed out that 92 yr olds die every day and they prolly died from waking up that morning, she wasn't mollified.

If we thought that death rates, of a couple of old folk out of the millions, that have had vaccinations, were something to worry about, then we wouldn't use cars, or aeroplanes, or viagra...

Exactly in Australia Road Traffic Accident fatalities are 43 per million per annum hitch means 50 times more likely to die in a RTA then a vaccination, damn there are 50 deaths per million per annum from alcohol.

Most people get in a motor vehicle or take a tipple on a weekly basis “Putting their lives at risk” well you would think so if you heard them bleating about blood clots from vaccinations.

We better remove all electricity from Australia 1.3 per million per year die from electric shock.

I fucking love statistics.

Neither do I and would not waste my time to read and (probably) understand what these people are saying. It just shows how complex the evaluation of a vaccine really is.

So do I. Any of the statistics do not prove things as such. While a comparison of dead Australians from traffic against fatalities from vaccination makes some sense, a comparison against dead New Zealanders from traffic would not unless you consider how many miles have been spent on the road.

What's wrong with the Chinese one?

China was selling Covid tests that were only 10% accurate. Many people have little confidence in Chinese quality control. Is China monitoring adverse vaccine reactions? Would China hide that info?  I always remember the Chinese infant formula that poisoned thousands of babies.

Sir,

I have been trading with them Chinese for an estimated period of 30 years, here comes my summary: on an individual basis they can be as nice or bad as any other human being as long as everything goes smoothly. As soon as it comes to accepting responsibility for anything having gone wrong and having to pay a price for it you can totally forget expecting any sort of honest behaviour. No idea where this comes from but it is a Mainland China cultural thing, the Taiwanese are a totally different breed.

Believing any statement of the official Chinese side has a similar value like believing anything that Trump says. Nuff said.
