Police chief vows to sack cops after clip goes viral

Recommended Posts

The police chief says he will fire the policemen involved in the fatal torture of a drug suspect in Nakhon Sawan after a clip showing a man being suffocated with a plastic bag went viral on Tuesday, a day after a provincial police boss vowed to probe the accusation.

The 2.44-minute clip shows a man sitting on a chair, surrounded by four men in civilian clothes. They are in a room full of desks like one would find at a police station.

One of the standing men covers the head of the seated man with a plastic bag. They beat him a few times while one of them is wrapping the bag around his neck and trying to push him down.

A bit more than getting sacked, more like charged with murder.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered a probe into the alleged killing of a drug suspect by a group of Nakhon Sawan policemen.

Led by a top officer, they allegedly suffocated the drug suspect to death with a plastic bag in a botched attempt to extort 2 million baht out of him.

From the article

Pol Col Thitisan, alias Jo Ferrari, was a student at the Royal Police Cadet Academy (class 57).

His alias came from the fact that he owned many sports cars, including a Lamborghini limited-edition Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversary special. He was reportedly the first Thai to own this car.

Even a blind man could see that assets far outstretch income yet nobody says anything

Now they should do the same check for all other high ranking police, military and other government officers. Anyone with assets beyond their means gets to explain them. No explanation, gov seizes the assets and uses it to buy vaccines.
(Yeah, and pigs might fly some day as well :( )

There was a man last year whom they caught over time wearing 20 or so watches of the Richard Mille type. Starter prices about 200.000 € I believe. The man could fully explain everything because he just borrowed them from a friend. He did not say who that friend was. The question should be superfluous but did that case go any further?

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is probing the unusual wealth of Pol Col Thitisan Utthanaphon, the key suspect in the custodial killing of a drug suspect in Nakhon Sawan.

The NACC has the authority to conduct this investigation along with the police investigation into the murder case, Niwatchai Kasemmongkol, NACC spokesman, said yesterday.

Evidence about the suspect's unusual wealth has been compiled and will today be forwarded to the NACC's subcommittee on assets inspection for consideration, he said.

From another article

Found at Pol Col Thitisan's 60-million-baht house were 29 luxury cars worth more than 100 million baht in total, said a source.

So, over 160 Million THB of assets on a Policeman’s wage, he wasn’t from a rich family.
