Coss
You gotta love the Irish 👍 Summary: Russian Navy planning to hold "war games" in waters, that coincidentally hold cables of an International and Internet nature... Right next to Ireland. If these cables got disrupted, a bunch of NATO and NATO allies, could find their societies and or defences, disrupted at a time, that Russia could well be playing hardball in the Ukraine... Nice distraction... The Irish Fishermen are having none of it, 60 fishing craft are going to go fishing, in the self same waters, at the same time the Ruskies are there and trawl their nets, to and fro. Maybe they'll catch a submarine with it's cable cutting gear exposed... True story, see the links - Fishermen plan to disrupt Russian military exercise off Irish coast https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-60130486?at_custom2=twitter&at_medium=custom7&at_custom4=99085C04-7E0A-11EC-93DC-6DB54744363C&at_campaign=64&at_custom1=[post+type] "This is a very important ground where fish come to spawn... and we don't know what's going on out here. "We should be entitled to go fishing there, and if we're fishing there then these boats, these warships, shouldn't be having war games." Mr Murphy said an issue of "real concern" was that their fishing gear at the back of their boats could get tangled with a submarine. _____ Irish fishermen hit out at Russian Navy "war games" off the coast of Ireland https://www.irishcentral.com/news/irish-fishermen-russian-navy “We understand that an aircraft exclusion zone has been announced for the area but we have not received any marine notice that prevents us from fishing this area that is situated inside our sovereign waters. "Strangely enough, if we managed to force them to relocate further west, it would probably cause disruption to the large Russian fishing fleet that targets Blue Whiting annually during February just outside our 200-mile limit.” _____

My Penis is hungry
Those fishing boats do more damage than anything else to cables. By the way look up the USS Jimmie Carter Submarine Interestingly the Micronesia fibre cut was done just down wind from the Regan Missile testing range, an odd co-incidence it's been thought

Coss
Well, never underestimate a bunch of Irish Fishermen. It was after all the Irish who invented Murpy's law, which led to the American corollary, "what could go wrong?" Russia: Military drill moved further from Irish shore A Russian military exercise has been moved further from the Irish coast, after pressure from politicians and fishermen. It has been moved outside of the Republic's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The 'live-fire' exercise had been due to take place 240km off the southwest coast. Irish Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney said the exercises would be "relocated outside of Ireland's EEZ". . . . The decision to relocate the exercise had been made as a "gesture of goodwill", the Russian ambassador to Ireland, Yuri Filatov, said on Saturday. Mr Filaov said the decision was taken so as not to "hinder fishing activities by the Irish vessels in the traditional fishing areas". A group of fishermen who used the area had also warned that they would stage peaceful protests against the action if it went ahead as originally planned. . . . https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-60184843
