Hi,

On Monday there were probably around 100 policemen, nearly half in full riot gear, between Asoke and the start of park.
And of course the vast majority were doing nothing.

Quite a few very young looking ones as well, which made me wonder if they pulled in students from the police academy.

Sanuk!

I was wondering how Cambodia fared with the East Asia Summit (EAS) last week.

I was in Phnom Penh once and watched from the comfort of a cafe, when the police/army/thugs sealed off the main road and pointed guns at everyone, just so a government minister could traverse the city/airport route.

Everyone just complied.

I see they're all in Bali now, so Thailand also?

Jeeze think of the hassle, having to uproot and change countries every few days, for essentially the same meetings with essentially the same people.

One place for all the meetings sounds logical to me.

But then if they were logical, they'd probably be doing a better job of running the place.
