jai-dee
Last time I tried parsit translator it produced totally incomprehensible translations. But this online dictionary http://www.thai-language.com/default.asp?tab=3 seems to be quite useful
daeng bireley
Ive checked out the parsit translator, seems OK for words and some short phrases. I dont know how it would go for longer passages. Only problem, whenever Ive used it, it translates into formal and written forms not really suitable for spoken or letters etc.
Guest
I had a English >> Thai translation program on a laptop in '98 & the Thai text with discussion proved to be wonderful with a limited English BR bunnie .. could spend some time before leaving the condo & map out an agenda & goals for that outing.. instead of being confused in the field we'd be confused in privacy!.. she was so much more useful if she knew where we were going & why...plus her English grew in leaps, forced objective discussion & a plan based on MY agenda with predetermined & understood objectives was a new experience for her! She'd read in Thai, then we'd get out the dictonary & go back & forthe with "word questions" from the dictionary... we both had one, English Thai & Thai English.. should have made a movie! she'd be 'mostly lost as could be' with only the text... but she could get a kinda general idea.. she got better at it after a few weeks.. the only way out of the condo for Kup Kow was her expressing a clear understanding of what where & why.
