Publishing 'Private Dancer' ?

I wrote to Mr Leather's publisher. One of the Hodder relatives signed it himself.

Usual shit about -"Stephen is our thriller writer and we don't want a change of style- might upset his loayal readers!"

Bunch of bean-counting wankers ! They wouldn't know a piece of original creativity if it farted in their rissotto filled wine sodden free lunch faces !

Day of the Jackal-F Forsyth =35 rejections before publication.

Wilbur Smith went back to South Africa, after about twenty odd rejections.

John Grisham- 33 rejections before first pulication.....

These twats are supposed to be publishers.

'Private Dancer' must be sitting on book shelves SOON !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rocky....

i agree entirely, maybe not the best piece of work unpublished but for those of us in the know an essential read.

and anyone going to thailand for the first time then it is essential reading.

first-time visitors should be warned about how the girls can act/be.

after all i'm one who has learned from experience.

Just to rub in it - and I am not a racialist - but I have been trying to read a Warner Book novel by Levar Burton and the guy hasn't got a clue about writing - like up to the standard of a six year old - and I can only think it's been published to fill some vile racial quota (he's an Aftrican American), totally beyond me why it was ever published...

Sayjann,

I am also one who has learned by experience. I also have had some really great times too. It is essential reading as I think it will do more for both sides than any clampdown. Stephen Leather's web page is well worth a browse too. For any budding writers out there it contains some useful links.

To add a further comment I believe the book will create an awareness on both sides, less comments about being "jai-dee" or "butterfly" and the girls and the alleged sex-tourists will realise they are fullfilling a need. The girls need the money the men need to do what comes naturally. What is wrong with that if all they get is rejection in the western culture because they are not a 'Brad Pitt' lookalike. A little more honesty and awareness on both sides might produce a better scene. Less lies and the men not acting like flies. I have met some girls who have been great fun. It’s when greed takes over the problems start. As long as visitors do not believe ALL

the girls are the same the publication of ‘Private Dancer’ will be a positive event for everybody

concerned…………..

Hang on, I thought we were talking about just a book. I didn't realise that somebody had made an amazing historical medical breakthrough and called it Private Dancer.
