Landmark Hotel

I've been coming to Bangkok at Nana Plaza for over 26, 27 years.

In all these years I have always stayed in the Prince-Hotel at the New Petchaburi (at the end of Soi 3).

As a regular guest and as a welcome guest I always got the best room, e. g. a room which was recently renovated.

Unfortunately, this hotel was demolished at the end of 2014.

Since then I have stayed at various hotels on the Soi 4; in the price range from 700 to 800 Baht.

When I come next season, I want to go to the Landmark.

Does anybody know what the standard room at the Landmark is?

Rooms at The Landmark are very nice and its proximity to the plaza makes it a good choice for anyone who wants to be close to the action. Very good buffets at The Landmark too, both breakfast and dinner. Obviously a room at The Landmark will run much more than you had been paying!

The Landmark forms the basis of my earliest memory of LOS from a mongering point of view.

I'd been in Bangkok about three days and I was still reeling from my first ever exposures to GoGo bars, full of nekkid darlings.

This was when, the price of beer didn't matter and a nekkid darling, really did give you the, all night till lunchtime, girlfriend experience, fold your clothes and shave your face in the shower.

So to the Landmark, I've never stayed there, but I was a regular in the mornings at their outside cafe terrace, for one espresso after another, so as to compliment the Lipovitan (always better than Red Bull) I was taking for the hangovers you know...

One morning, I watched as a girl, in a flimsy red chiffon dress and to the trained eye, no underwear, exited the Landmark, high heels beating a staccato on the steps and handbag weighed down with lucre.

She came to a halt kerbside and tried to summon a taxi or a TukTuk. She was in my opinion, the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, before or since. As she waved to passing taxis, her lack of underwear became riveting to the observer, me.

Those days, breast implants were a very rare thing and this girl had the most wonderfully proportioned and mobile tits. The slight breeze, once or twice, afforded view of a neatly trimmed woman's parts at the junction of magnificent legs.

She was at this summoning business for about ten minutes, before she left into a taxi and sped away.

Those ten minutes remain with me still.

As to the buffet on the high part of the Landmark, I once went in sandals and clean and tidy shorts and collared shirt, no customers were evident and I was refused entry.

Never mind, I still remember the girl in the red wispy dress...

Thanks a lot for your advice and comments, guys.

for the price:

of course it was clear to me in 1991/1992, when I first came, that the Landmark was an expensive hotel.

You can see and admire it when you enter Nana Plaza. It towers proudly and powerfully into the nightly Bangkoker sky.

I always wanted to put up at the Landmark. But I'd much rather spend my money on having fun with the girls than spending it on an expensive hotel room.

Nowadays not only times have changed, but also I have changed. I am 26 years older, handicapped by a terrible stroke; and pensioner.

From now on I'm ready to spend both for a nice hotel room and for the Sanuk.

There are two lively German boards.

On one board there is a thread about the landmark since 2010. Prices were between 50 and 60 Euros.

These favourable prices can be obtained by booking http://www.meiers-weltreisen.de/ in advance via Meiers Weltreisen, for example.

No prices have been mentioned for more than a year now. I think the hotel has drastically increased prices. I did some research. 120 euros. I can't afford it.

I'd rather spend the money on the girls, round the corner, Nana 555555

Can somebody confirm these "new" prices?

Mr Nasiadai,

the Landmark used to be my favorite downtown residence til one day I had enough. I did never take any ladies there ( not true ) but could confirm that they are probably the most girlfriendly place all over Asia . No surcharge . They provide a great breakfast buffet and the outside terrace is a place which I still very much fancy visiting today. I spent a night there with a mushroom farmer from Nongkai I remember at a time when I was unsuccessfully looking for a new temporary love of my life. Targeting on sort of a quality place close to Nana the Landmark is the choice. The mushroom farmer I discovered at the Beergarden though , I dislike Nanaplaza.
