Police upgraded charges to causing death, cited a positive cocaine test and uncovered an alleged nominee business network now under scrutiny.

A Koh Phangan hit-and-run that left a leading Thai doctor dead has exploded into one of Thailand’s most high-profile criminal cases. On Monday, the Koh Samui Provincial Court jailed British suspect Duncan Wilcock, 51, after revoking his bail and upgrading the case to reckless driving causing death. At the same time, police widened their probe, alleging cocaine use, multiple driving offences and an illegally operated tour boat business run through Thai nominees.

A British businessman accused of a fatal hit-and-run on Koh Phangan was sent to prison on Monday after the Koh Samui Provincial Court revoked his bail. The ruling followed the death of a prominent Thai doctor injured in the collision. It also came as police widened their investigation into alleged nominee business activities linked to a tour boat company.

Duncan Wilcock, 51, was escorted under police guard from Koh Phangan to Koh Samui Provincial Court on June 8. Officers from Koh Phangan Police Station presented new charges following the death of Associate Professor Dr. Thirasak Kaewamattavong, known widely as Dr. Ton..... Due to overwhelming interest and limited capacity at the sites, the army advises those wishing to visit next weekend to register and make reservations online in advance.

The trial opening of the historical tourism route on Saturday attracted more than 3,000 visitors, who came to experience what authorities described as a new destination, combining history, culture and nature along Thailand's border with Cambodia.

The route, jointly opened by Surin province, the Second Army Region and Bak Dai sub-district administrative organisation, includes Prasat Ta Khwai and Mount 350 in Bak Dai sub-district. The sites will be open again to visitors on June 13 and 14.

The approximately 2.9km historical walking trail features seven key points of interest, including the Thai Defenders Monument, the Buddha Metta statue, Prasat Ta Khwai, Mount 350 and memorial statues dedicated to soldiers who served in the area.

The project aims to promote historical learning alongside nature tourism, while commemorating those who defended Thailand's territorial integrity..... Thailand’s consumer watchdog has filed a landmark civil lawsuit against the parent companies of four major global technology platforms and nine financial institutions, seeking more than 230 million baht in compensation for victims of online investment scams.

The Thailand Consumers Council, together with lawyers and representatives of affected consumers, filed the case with the Civil Court on Ratchadaphisek Road on June 8, 2026.

The Civil Court has scheduled the first case management hearing for August 3, 2026.

The lawsuit is being described as the first of its kind in Thailand to pursue liability against overseas parent companies that own and control major global digital platforms. The council said the case aims to establish a new benchmark for consumer protection and force major platforms to improve safety standards for Thai users. He watched three YouTube vlogs about "living on ten dollars a day in Chiang Mai," stuffed a pair of unwashed elephant pants into a ratty backpack, and booked a budget flight to Suvarnabhumi, genuinely believing his pure, untethered "good vibes" would somehow seamlessly wave him through passport control.

Smirking at the immigration officer while bragging about your minimalist, anti-capitalist lifestyle doesn't make you an enlightened global nomad. It officially makes you an international financial liability who can't even scrape together five hundred bucks in emergency cash.

You stood at the border counter operating under the grand delusion that the Kingdom of Thailand is desperately starving for your unique spiritual energy. Meanwhile, the brutal truth is that the unamused immigration official looked at your frayed dreadlocks, checked your completely empty wallet, and correctly identified you as a walking, talking GoFundMe campaign just waiting to happen. They don't want your acoustic guitar covers of Bob Marley; they want absolute proof that you aren't going to end up sleeping on a beach in Phuket and begging the locals for free Pad Thai.

There is absolutely nothing more spectacularly pathetic than watching you argue with a stern border guard about the "oppressive nature of fiat currency" while furiously trying to load your frozen Revolut app on the airport's free Wi-Fi. You didn't get rejected by the matrix: you literally just got denied entry because a sovereign nation took one look at your bank balance and decided they already have enough broke foreigners overstaying their welcome.

Pick up your oversized backpack, march right back to your economy seat on the next flight home, and accept that "finding yourself" strictly requires a minimum account balance.

The Anything Goes Music Thread!

https://thai360.com/index.php?/topic/59284-the-anything-goes-music-thread/&do=findComment&comment=1488419

Dump memes, lets have a laugh…

https://thai360.com/index.php?/topic/66679-dump-memes-lets-have-a-laugh%E2%80%A6/&do=findComment&comment=1488418

The Anything Goes Music Thread!

https://thai360.com/index.php?/topic/59284-the-anything-goes-music-thread/&do=findComment&comment=1488417

The Anything Goes Youtubery Thread

https://thai360.com/index.php?/topic/63224-the-anything-goes-youtubery-thread/&do=findComment&comment=1488416

Usa Thread

https://thai360.com/index.php?/topic/54725-usa-thread/&do=findComment&comment=1488415

Trump explodes at ‘Meet the Press’ host: ‘You’re either crooked or you’re stupid’. The app allows users to submit passport details and travel plans to create a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), a process designed to take under three minutes and reduce airport congestion.

Currently in a trial phase for download on iOS and Android, the THIM app is scheduled for a full official launch in August 2026.

Future plans include developing THIM into a "Super App" for all foreigners, handling document requests, immigration appointments, and providing access to a 24/7 tourist police hotline.

 In short:

Rescuers have postponed their search for two men trapped in a flooded cave in Laos as the site becomes unstable and conditions worsen.

An international team, including an Australian cave diving specialist, helped rescue five of the seven miners who became trapped on May 20.

 What's next?

Efforts would focus on pumping water from the cave system, but rescuers said they needed a "miracle" with more rain forecast for the region.

Rescuers called off their search on Saturday local time, for two men who became trapped in a semi-submerged cave in Laos more than two weeks ago, after the site became unstable and survival hopes faded.

Thai rescue teams said the focus would now shift to pumping the area to reduce water levels, but needed a "miracle" to face more rain forecast for the region.

 An international rescue effort

Seven villagers became trapped in the cave in Xaysomboun province in central Laos on May 20 when flash floods blocked their exit as they hunted bats for food and searched for gold in old mining areas, state media said.

Rescue teams located five of the men alive a week later, extracting one diver on May 29 and guided out four men the following day after water was pumped from the flooded cavern.

Two miners remained missing despite intensive searching by Laos and international rescue teams.

The five survivors were discovered huddled in a narrow passage around 300 metres from the cave's entrance, and said the two missing men had entered the site separately.

Lee Kian Lie, a Malaysian cave diver, told media the rescue operation was at an "end" as the risks of continuing the search outweighed the slim chances of the men's rescue.

"We were so close," Lee said. "The water in the cave was already manageable, but the cave entrance started to become unstable."

"To continue the operation is high risk," he added.

"They will continue to manage the water by pumping and digging at possible resurgence points to let the water flow out faster. Perhaps a miracle will happen,

"Everyone tried. We tried. I am sorry for the family." said Lee.

Lee described the mission as the most dangerous rescue operation he had experienced, facing flooding, unstable cave structures, tight restrictions and poor air quality.

By Friday, key cave specialists, including Australian diver Josh Richards, had already left the site.

	Worsening weather forecast

Thai lead rescuer Kengkad Bongkawong said in a social media post on Saturday, no one was allowed inside the cave due to the risks associated, but water pumping operations would persist outside.

"Even though we don't know the current condition of those two individuals, reducing the water level inside the cave is the best approach right now," Mr Bongkawong said.

"There are still food rations and survival supplies that we have placed at various points inside the cave. If miracles exist, I believe their expertise will guide them out safely."

Mr Bongkawong had earlier said rising rain water levels had reduced the vertical space inside the cave to around 30 centimetres — half what rescuers worked in during the operation's earlier phases.

"From today onwards, the rain will become progressively heavier," he warned in his Saturday post.

The Kennedy Centre has ordered employees to remove all references to President Donald Trump from the performing arts venue.

A memo told staff that they had until June 12 to strip all references to Trump, including signs, brochures, the website and other materials - and to update email signatures and letterhead immediately.

The directive came six days after US District Judge Christopher Cooper ruled that the Kennedy Centre’s board had exceeded its authority when it voted in December to add Trump’s name to the building...
