More than 400 police officers and soldiers were dispatched across Pattaya in a show of force on the eve of the long holiday weekend.
New Chonburi Governor Thawatchai Srithong sent the 449 officers on their way to serve and protect at Bali Hai Pier Oct. 12.

Among the contingent of officers were police from Pattaya and Provincial Police Region 2, the 14th Military Circle, Banglamung District, Internal Security Operations Command, Narcotics Control Office Region 2, Marine Police and police volunteers.

Officers spread out around Walking Street, checking bars and clubs for drugs, guns and minors before moving to other high-profile tourist areas.

A question for the local expats and those who are currently on the ground.
What is the current situation in Pattaya?

It is clear that it is the rainy season and Pattaya is often under water.
It is also clear that this is the low season.
Corona measures have been scaled back in all countries.
It is again easy to enter Thailand for several weeks or even months.

What is the situation in Pattaya?
What about the Chinese tour groups?
What about the holidaymakers from India, Pakistan etc.?
What about the Koreans and Japanese?
Are there any Western holidaymakers on site? Men travelling alone, married couples, smaller groups?
What about the old white men of retirement age?
Are they still a nuisance, plague?
The Pattaya Business and Tourism Association (PBTA) made a comment yesterday on the incoming mayoral election, asking for a normal Songkran and urging a new mayor to prioritize tourism.

Yesterday, March 26th, Mr. Boonanan Pattanasin, the president of PBTA, revealed his association’s coordination with other business entities in Pattaya, confirming that during the absence of the Pattaya mayor, everything regarding tourism and businesses will function normally as there will be a Pattaya City Manager to be responsible for the mayor in the interim.

In addition, Mr. Boonanan hoped that Songkran Festival and the “Big Day” (April 19th) will be allowed to continue like it did before the pandemic this year to ease the economy. However, under the current circumstance, he also accepted certain Covid-19 protective restrictions to occur, but strongly rejected the entire prohibition of the water splashing and fun events...

Leading on from the top 5 BKK bars....

What's your top 5 bars in Pattaya? It can be a gogo, a beer bar, a massage parlour. It can be a hotel bar, or some old katoey selling beer by the side of beach road.

It's been at least six years since my last visit to the kingdom, and probably longer since I've been to Pattaya, so my list is way outdated. With an upcoming trip, I'd be interested to know your top 5....

Here's a few I remember...

1. Flinstones. A little beer bar at the bottom of soi 8, owned by a great guy, the girls were great fun and always knew where to find a good feed.

2. The beer bar with the woven cane seats.... about half way up. Fast Fred, or whoever he's known by these days, took me there one night (pretty sure it was my birthday), and coming from BKK, I assumed they closed at 2am... many beers later (some jai dee lads kept ringing the bell) the sun came up and we just kept going. I just made breakfast at 1130 at the hotel. Awesome time. Sidenote - best head job of my life from a lovely surin lass who I didn't even catch her name

3. Some gogo - I was drunk, it was hot, they had airconditioning

4. One of the "discos". There was Marine, and another one... I think it was the other one. Not sure, but there was about 8 of us (plus girls), and we were going nuts. Oh what a night.

5. Some crappy little beer bar near Pinewood Apartments. This was back when the boy scouts were in town. Pinewood was one of the only places with rooms (Xmas/NYE), which cost a bit but the rooms were awesome, and the food spectacular. Close proximity to Sabai(?) massage turned out a blessing too. There was a crappy looking beer bar nearly, with even crappier looking grandmother girls, but they were fun and always good for a laugh when I felt like a beer or three before hitting the town with the now infamous, "London Contingent" back in the day.

Ahh the memories. Plan on reliving some of the better ones soon.

Please share your thoughts/top 5

SUPER-GIRL a gogo - Pattaya - Diamond Plaza

This GoGo deserves its own chapter, theme!

It's on Diamond Plaza. Coming from WS, enter Diamond Plaza; the Super Girl is in the back left; the last bar.

There are about 20 to 26 girls, as the case may be. Many very pretty, very attractive among them.

The guests are mostly Asian, mainly Japanese, and a few Koreans, as I could see. Sometimes a group of Chinese package tourists enter the gogo.

But after about 30 minutes - after one drink - they go.

Of course, a few Farlangs, but often a minority.

This Gogo is the best visited bar in the Soi Diamond. The other gogos are almost always dead boring.

The girls in SUPER-GIRL are great, most of them are lively, the atmosphere is usually - as I should say - relaxed.

The drinks:

there's a draught beer for 69 Baht. Recommendable.

Lady Drink 150 Baht.

Barfine:

800 Baht / 1600 Baht = this refers to shorttime and longtime.

In addition: 1600 Baht before midnight for LT and 800 Baht after midnight LT.

My opinion: quite steep.

The girls want 3000 longtime.

But they are also available for 2500 and 2000. (I know what I am talking about).

The girls dance in 2 or 3 shifts. One shift is naked. The others are dancing in a bikini.

This gogo can not only be reached via Diamond Plaza, but it also has a second entrance, a rear entrance, so to speak;

it is located on the Soi 15, coming from WS, after about 70 m on the right.

I think this gogo is a real alternative to the overpriced gogos along Walking Street and Soi 15!

The girls are wonderful.

Only the barfine is a cheek.

This is a re-translation from my Germen text, I wrote for a German board.

Pattaya in March 2017 - Saturday, March 18, 2017.

We wanted to go to the beach at Beach road between Soi 7 and Soi 8 this morning.

However: it began absolutely bucketing down .

Again and again lighter rainfall and short showers.

Now - it is around 2 o'clock pm. - still thick gray clouds and from time to time a few rain drops.

It is obviously you cannot rely on the weather here no more.

The rule of thumb states: from November to April approximately dryness, followed by the rainy season the end of October.

This rule no longer seems to apply. This rule seems to be out of force. Do you understand my poor English?

I remember the first half of January 2017.

The entire south drained in the rain,

Here is a picture showing the area of Surat Thani.

South of Hua Hin, an important bridge has been partially rinsed, and almost all traffic, including the train, has been interrupted for several days.

These weather instabilities seem to concern only the parts of Thailand and Southeast Asia, which lie directly on the water, on the seas. So on the Gulf as well as on the Andaman Sea. On the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea.

There seems to be stable weather for the entire mainland as before.

I do not spend time with my girl as planned on the beach, but in the restaurant of our hotel.

I have been several weeks in Laos - Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang etc.

Took the night train from Nong Khai to Krung Thep and arrived at Hualampong this morning (14.2.2017) at 6 am.

A Thai friend - the F5-Pilot - was waiting for me and we went to Lam Luk Ka (north of Bangkok) where we spent several hours together in the house of our common friend, the pilot of The Royal Thai Airways, who has arrived with his plane from Frankfurt the night before.

Chatting, laughing, drinking away the morning hours. Great time.

We talken in German and Thai, by the way.

Then we left our common buddy and drove to Pattaya.

Arrived around 2.30 afternoon, checked in our hotel Second Road on the level of Soi 7.

Afterwards we took the Bahtbus to Soi 6.

Nothing special, very quiet. Many girls, hardly any customers.

My Soi 6 girls - they all seem to be no longer there. What a pity!

We left Soi 6 and strolled the beach promenade up to height Soi 7.

It was wonderful. A light onshore wind brought some cooling.

I enjoyed every step and breathed the sea air with great pleasure.

There was not much going on on the deckchairs.

My impression: for the high season not many tourists.

We returned to our hotel through Soi 7 and took a nap. We have been very tired.

Now – 8 pm evening we start our barhopping.

Girls – we are coming! That is a promise and a threat at the same time 55555555

live from Pattaya – 14. February 2017 – 8 pm

http://youtu.be/X5lwbVBzjPA

At 2am on 31/08/14 police were called to the scene of a car crash. A Toyota Altis had crashed into the concrete support column for an overpass in Pataya's Sukhumwit Rd. The driver turned out to be a 25 year old Thai woman dressed in just a bra and a skimpy pair of knickers.

When she saw the police she ran off but they caught up with her in a petrol station where the drunk girl proceeded to kick out and swear at the assembled police and reporters before she was handcuffed and driven away in a Baht Bus.

Wonder who she was? Maybe returning home from work in a go go bar...

..as in Brazilian coiffures.

Things are still lively down Funtown way.

Last week there was plenty of action at Sweeny Todd GoGo and its demon barber manager.[no names no pack drill]

All the girls were under instruction to get their gear off on cue from him. Some of them had quite bushy maps of Tasmania, so out came the shaving cream and razor and the bearded clams were trimmed with the mamasan holding a torch much to the delight of the customers.

Quite a night..eyebee would have loved it!
