lumphini park freelancers?

i noticed that after 10pm or so, thai women in rather skimpy attire start lining up on ratchadamri road at the edge of lumphini park. i have a few questions for anyone with experience with these particular freelancers: (1) what is the usual procedure in propositioning one of them (including price, available services, whether walk-up is allowed, etc), (2) are these legit women (i.e., not ka-toeeys!), and (3) what are people's general impressions/experiences with the lumphini freelancers? much thanks!

They are legitimate hookers. Usually a bit run down, compared to bar girls, but not always. Most speak no English, S/T may run around 7-800bht, maybe less. Or so I hear...

Wear 2 condoms at least...in fact full body armour would be a good idea...there used to be a lot, less now than before...walked along there one day and got lots of where u gos...some lookers, but not many...guys in cars/taxis stop and pickup...same happens near rca a lot now, but better looking, often uni girls...be careful out there!!

You can go as low as 500B according to a few taxi drivers who've driven me home by that area with their eyebrows up :hubba: If your gonna do it post about it.

I live in that area and walk home there reasonably often at night. Have never gone with one of the ladies there - a little scared about germs... i.e. why are they working on the street and not in a bar somewhere??

 

1) Upon making enquiries just out of interest, I have been quoted 700B - 1000 B for short time.

 

2) All have said they won't do long time.

 

3) They won't come to your apartment at all. They will only go to a short time hotel. I think the hotel one of them mentioned once is Sathorn Hotel or something like that. (I always seem to be drunk when I'm stumbling down this street late at night! Weird, eh?) The quote for the short time hotel is 200 baht.

 

4) The English is pretty much from the non-existent to very basic level.

 

5) The standard of looks ranges from downright ugly, through to average and funnily enough, a couple of girls I've seen who would be on my "stunner" list in any gogo. (Again - why are they working the street?)

 

6) I could be wrong, but I think some of these girls have pimps. There seem to be a lot of guys on motorbikes hanging around many of the girls. They're not punters, because they hang around talking to the girls far too long to be making negotiations. Also, I've seen girls get in a taxi or car with a punter and then a motorbike starts off and tails the taxi at a distance behind.

 

7) Most seem quite reluctant to go with a farang. About 50% I'd say. Even a farang who can speak Thai.

 

So, simply not worth it IMO. Sure, it may be cheap, but I don't like messing around with girls who have pimps, and I don't like the thought of what impact a quick short time would have on my health long time.

Well, I must differ with my friend OH and most of the other posts. I lived across the street form Lumphini for 2 years and have terrible sleeping habits. So, walked around the entire park at all hours of the night.

 

No doubt about it 500 baht ST. I understand enough Thai langauage and have heard the girls quote this to the Thai suitors many times. And, it has been offered to me as well - and I indulged 1 time.

 

But, my favorite based upon appearance, the only one I ever approached, nearly jumped out of her skin and said something about farang - clearly, not at all accustomed to farang.

 

And, speaking from experience (that is walking and seeing), not always but fairly frequently, there are some that are beautiful - much better than the average GoGo girl and near the top.

 

But, all in all, not really a place for farangs.

Yes, they are hookers, or many of them. Not just girls standing around for their health or on their way home. TM is probably right, regarding the prices, but I...er I mean I hear the prices for farangs were 7-800+ for short time. And I had heard English was limited among many...most cater to the Thai or local clientele I would think, as that is who would usually be driving around...in any event, most were not that good looking...er so I had heard, but as I have low standards, I am sure I'd find something I'd like...especially at that price. (500bht).

That may have been one of the old broads sunning herself... Go wherever, they will know. A few short time rooms around, a few you might not expect...or so I hear.
