Fidel
Hi, Any links to information on this are appreciated. Also, any idea how easy/difficult it is to get this? Cost, time involved etc? Cheers.
kojis
Fidel It would depend on the girl's situation or sponsors'. If family or boyfriend or herself has money and a regular job it shouldn't be difficult. Only small incomes by european standards are enough Is it for a short trip or a visit in france? A visit is more difficult as you need some official documents from the french city hall where she's going to live certifying the house is big anough and the household wealthy enough to take care of her. Here again depends on the cities, small ones apparently easier. Are you planning to visit France? what did we do to deserve that
Fidel
Hi Kojis, She's got enough money, and we'll be staying in my sister's apartment in Paris. It's gonna be a short visit, 3 nights, (don't worry ). I'm guessing we'll need bank statements from my GF, proof that travel is paid for, and a letter of invitation from my sister. How about travel insurance? Necessary? Cheers.
kojis
Yes travel insurance necessarry. But I'd guess if your GF already got the UK visa it should be visa (not the ssame the other way around though) Again you'd be better off without the invitation if it implies the sister needs to get a "certificat d'hebergement".time consumming piece of buraucracy. Might be better of meaning you're going to stay in a hotel. perhaps check with french embassy what they advice you. here's the link to the english section of the pakistan mission: http://www.ambafra-pk.org/sommaire.php3?id_rubrique=2 And don't worry you'll be fine in France, people there LOVE bashing America

Fidel
Ok, I'll have her get the Irish visa first (not going to the UK), then the French one.

thalenoi
Sorry Fidel, why don't you ask/tel embassy/consulate France? My son got his girl friend (uni student) over to Belle-gium last year for one month. Think he needed to guarantee all her expenses. Dunno how long it took, will ask him when I talk to him tonight. Was easy though.
