A wealthy businessman appoints his only daughter, a nun, as sole heir to his estate. As he embarks on a new enterprise, they soon become the target of scheming tycoons, foreign terrorists and determined assassins. A stunningly original movie, not for everyone, continues Anderson’s unmistakable visual and narrative style with the subtlest of humor. Worth seeing.

A Japanese puppeteer's daughter gets caught up with criminals when their show crosses paths with a crime gang. A windswept samurai western set in apocalyptic Scotland, some established actors in incredibly simple story telling, shallow acting, b-level movie not worth the time of day.

Toxic Town [2025 TV]
When dozens of babies in Corby are born with disabilities, their mothers embark on a battle to hold those responsible to account. Based on true events, this is another Netflix mini series that they are churning out in abundance, but this one stands out for the strong performances in a formulaic format that entertains despite its grim tale.

It was shown at the same time as adolescence over here and TBH I found Toxic Town the better of the two

He's an absolute treasure. If anyone deserved an international prize. Haven't seen this one but have enjoyed many of his other Documentaries. Shame more in positions of power don't listen to him.

I'm finding huge numbers of his doccos in the ether, sometimes I wonder how he had time to grow old, with the amount of content he's narrated. Very good, as you say a treasure..

Just watched “The Alto Knights.” Robert Dinero plays both Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, the 2 mob bosses who battled each other for power years ago. Good movie.

Been binging on Goliath. First 2 seasons 👍.....Second 2 seasons took on a bit of an arty direction. Enjoy anything with BBT

An offering from Wes Anderson - starting to see that people love or hate Wes' movies. This one I liked a lot.

Not a stretch to say, a star studded cast, most of them in cameos, these are the one's I recognised - Benicio Del Toro, a couple of Hanks, Willem Dafoe, F. Murray Abraham, Rupert Friend, Mia Threapleton, Michael Cera, Riz Ahmed, Bryan Cranston, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray and Benedict Cumberbatch

I also enjoyed Andersons' The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) and The French Dispatch (2021)

Asteroid City, not so much.

Sovereign [2025 Movie]
A father and son who identify as Sovereign Citizens in America, a group of anti-government extremists, find themselves in a standoff with a chief of police that sets off a manhunt. Based on true events, superb slow burning and tragic thriller with strong performances depicting an event where radical ideology and gun culture don't mix. Worth seeing.
