Palatkik Posted November 9 Report Posted November 9 Frankenstein [2025 Movie] Dr. Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist, brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation. Yet another movie based on English literature works by Mary Shelley, this time we see a gothic masterpiece by one of cinema's most prominent directors of this genre. Well worth seeing for those into gothic escapism. 1
Palatkik Posted November 10 Report Posted November 10 The Smashing Machine [2025 Movie] The story of mixed-martial arts and UFC champion, Mark Kerr. The movie focuses on the period 1997-2000 when Kerr aspired to become the greatest fighter in the world whilst in a battle over his opioid dependence and volatile relationship with his girlfriend. Most surprising of all is the lead, who we are more familiar with in exhibitionist roles, here is a lead in a magnificent sports drama giving an impeccable understated performance.
Palatkik Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 One Battle After Another [2025 Movie] When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunite to rescue the daughter of one of their own. One of the years best movies, exhilarating, chaotic, entertaining with wonderfully layered performances. Not to be missed.

Palatkik Posted November 16 Report Posted November 16 I Was a Teenage Sex Pistol [2025 Movie] A founding Sex Pistol Glen Matlock, reveals the band's chaotic rise, from London's grim 1970s streets to global notoriety, sharing untold stories of punk's birth, band-mate dynamics, and his overlooked role in creating their legendary album. Based on the book of the same name, its all been said before but nevertheless a very watchable documentary trip down memory lane featuring many characters from the era.
Palatkik Posted November 28 Report Posted November 28 Dead of Winter [2025 Movie] A woman, traveling alone through snowbound northern Minnesota, interrupts the kidnapping of a teenage girl. Hours from the nearest town and with no phone service, she realizes that she is the young girl's only hope. Fargo style thriller albeit mediocre at best where the snow and scenery are more interesting than the characters.
Palatkik Posted November 28 Report Posted November 28 Slow Horses [2022 TV] Follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve as a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes under a leader with a penchant for living like a slob and breaking wind. Entertaining spy action drama series, now with five seasons complete and a sixth on the way, based on the Slough House novels, top acting, witty dialogue, Oldman steals every scene. Possibly peaked with previous seasons as season five seems frivolous, just going thro the motions, albeit watchable. 1
