Are you referring to the Australian actor Russell Crowe?

Originally "Russ le Roq",  who back in the day, was sniffing around my sister, as a young fella in NZ.

Frankenstein [2025 Movie]
Dr. Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist, brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.  Yet another movie based on English literature works by Mary Shelley, this time we see a gothic masterpiece by one of cinema's most prominent directors of this genre. Well worth seeing for those into gothic escapism.

This is very good - whilst undeniably entertainment, it's Art in my estimation.

Guillermo del Toro has, yes, created a masterpiece.

Just finished season 1 and starting season 2 of “Surviving Summer” about a smart ass over confident devil may care teen girl from New York City who goes Australia and gets involved with a group of teen surfers…kinda fun and it makes me wish I had grown up in Australia, surfing the various beaches.  I have surfed here and really wish I was better at it… So a question if I might, is surfing as big and career oriented as this movie makes it out to be..?

Unfortunately yes, think Tony Hawk of skateboarding fame, every handsome young fella who thinks he doesn't need to work has a Career in Influencer Surfing.

Having not seen the series all I know is it can be. I surfed right up until about 15 years ago. Taught both my sons as well. Teenage life was all about the beach and still is if you live near one.

AS for lucrative absolutely. Take Mick Fanning for example. 3 times World Champion from Sydney. He's the guy who nearly got taken by the shark at J Bay live on TV. Probably earned between $2M-$4M a year including endorsements. Invested with a couple of other pro surfers setting up a craft beer brewery. Recently sold to one of the big breweries Carlton United I think is was for $200M. So yes it can be.

BTW, what is the popular beer among locals in Australia..?

It's definitely not Fosters. We're actually spoiled for choice. We have Lagers, Ales, Craft Beers by the hundreds. There's a Pub I used to go to that had 50+ beers on tap. It's also a state by state thing. But a few favorites would be Tooheys New, VB, Carlton Drought, Hahn Super-dry, Coopers Pale Ale, XXXX (because Queenslander can't spell) and the list goes on. My choice is Pure Blonde which is low carb.
