Palatkik Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Dirty Business [2026 TV] Two amateur detectives in an Oxfordshire village discover dying fish in their river. When they contact the water company for answers, the company's odd, evasive response prompts them to launch an investigation that continues today. Another docudrama mini series along the lines of Mr Bates vs. The Post Office, to highlight another UK national corruption scandal - this time involving sewage. The acting is awful in this shit-show, a good documentary might be a better way to get the message out. 1
Palatkik Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Good Boy [2025 Movie] A 19-year-old criminal is kidnapped and forced into a rehabilitation process by a dysfunctional couple, who try to make him a "good boy" chained up like a dog. Despite the confusing array of titles used for this release "Heel", "The Good Boy" or "Good Boy", this creepy and original British psycho thriller is surprisingly engaging with a fine cast of understated performances that can make the viewer overlook the plausibility.
Palatkik Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Saipan [2025 Movie] A dramatic recreation on the eve of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the Irish captain Roy Keane forfeits his place in the squad at the team's preparation base in Saipan, following a heated disagreement with the Irish manager Mick McCarthy. Highly entertaining football movie, without any footballs, set during the last time Ireland got to a world cup and how Keane's personality knocked himself out before getting there. Worth seeing.
Palatkik Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 Gone [2026 TV] A local school headmaster becomes the prime suspect in his wife's disappearance when he encounters gutsy detective in a compulsive game of cat and mouse. Quality TV old school format, engrossing slow burn crime drama whodunit, based loosely on the novel To Hunt A Killer, is a must see for those into the genre.
Palatkik Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 Blue Moon [2025 Movie] Tells the story of Lorenz Hart's struggles with alcoholism and mental health as he tries to save face with his associate Rogers of the Rogers and Hammerstein duo, during the opening of "Oklahoma!". Oscar bating in style, a thespian show off in a faultless lead performance of Hart, the subject matter of a fictionalized encounter in a bar of Hart with Rogers, along with a mysterious letter writing young woman. It won't appeal to everyone but that should not detract from what is a well made movie perhaps more suited to stage.
Palatkik Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die [2025 Movie] A "Man From the Future" arrives at a diner in Los Angeles where he must recruit the precise combination of disgruntled patrons to join him on a one-night quest to save the world from the terminal threat of a rogue artificial intelligence. Highly original albeit messy drawn out at times, satirical black comedy about today’s tech driven social media zombies. Worth seeing. 1

Based on thousands and thousands of true stories Oddly, I’m not sure why bullying is such a big deal today. I mean it has always been around and always been relatively bad…just had to sort of suck it up and move on…goes on at the adult level as well, see it all the time where I work…we didn’t take guns to school or kill ourselves over it… I am glad there are attempts to stop it and punish those who do it, but is that really preparation for the real world..?

I am. When we were growing up we didn't have to deal with smart phones and social media. It's one of the main reasons social media is banned here in Oz for U/16s. The problem is we hand children a phone and believe we hand them the greatest weapon of all time and it's not necessarily them that weaponize it, it's others that weaponize it against others.
