A comedy about a failing pub, a divided community and a grieving family whose lives are changed by brewing real ale and entering the Great British Beer Awards. Can come across as weak as piss, cliched, yet as similar quirky UK comedies go this is a feel good movie that works when the mood suits.

Entertaining crime caper, where the culprits never got caught but also burnt their takings, the movie seems implausible if it wasn't true.

Jeremy Clarkson attempts to run a farm in the countryside. Now into the fifth season, which includes expanding out from the farm and pub, into automated farming in 2026, this realty TV series is entertaining, insightful and humbling. Somehow this still works and a sixth season is planned.

As World War I rages on, a local doctor takes over a British choral society that's lost most of its men to the army. The community soon discovers that the best response to the chaos of war is to make beautiful music together. Old school cliche driven British cinema, tiring to watch.

It focuses on their unlikely partnership, Naz’s unorthodox style, cocky persona, and sheer dominance in the ring propelled them to the top of boxing’s elite and unprecedented levels of global stardom, all in the face of the rampant Islamophobia and racism. Enjoyable yet formulaic boxing drama with Sly Stallone executive director.

Steven Spielberg’s latest sci-fi thriller, Disclosure Day, is widely viewed by critics as a direct ideological rebuke of MAGA

By focusing on whistleblowers exposing a government-backed conspiracy, anti-science sentiment, and corrupt corporate interests suppressing the truth, the film serves as a plea for empathy and institutional trust.  

The film follows two primary characters on the run: a rogue cybersecurity analyst (Josh O'Connor) and a meteorologist with newfound abilities (Emily Blunt). Together, they attempt to leak long-suppressed evidence of extraterrestrial life to the public.
 

Critics and reviewers have drawn several thematic parallels between the film's narrative and today's political climate: 

• Distrust in Authority: The movie revolves around a 79-year government and corporate cover-up. The shadowy paramilitary agency, led by a corporate boss played by Colin Firth, acts as a barrier to the truth.  
• Rejection of Conspiratorial Control: The establishment goes to violent lengths to keep the masses confused and distracted, an element several outlets have noted is highly resonant with the current "Trumpian" era of political information.  
• A Plea for Empathy: The film's overarching message advocates for global truth and mutual understanding over fear and xenophobia. It directly critiques the modern tribalism that leads to the suppression of facts. 

 

Saw this, it's Spielberg so it's good, but not earth shattering, as I'd expected it to be.

Just watched “All quiet on the Western Front.” Very well done, epic. A monument to man’s ego and stupidity, especially when they aren’t the ones enduring the hardship.
