if you haven't seen, the current reports of the folk in the USA losing their minds over drones -

Consider this.

T'were I so inclined, and I was in America, and felt mischievous towards the denizens at the lower end of the IQ graph,  in my local USA neighbourhood:

I could do worse, than take my nifty Drone, I got from Amazon, out at night and turn it's little lights on and fly it over places that I presume, are where Americans live. (being in America this would not be difficult)

When the battery got low, I would retrieve the Drone and go home.

T'were there others like me, this could happen multiple times, in the dark, even becoming a popular sport.

Like when a large number of people gamed google,  to skew search results for "idiot" to give Donald Trump as the search result.

Of note:

Don't shoot the Drones

Fury grows as US politicians demand answers about mysterious drones

Alien Drones

But the best IMHO, is the speed and agility of the capitalist system wherein, mere days after these stories started appearing, there is a chap on major TV channels, from the Company "Drone Shield" with the title "Director of Public Safety", telling credulous journalists all about these Drones,  that the average American should be very afraid of.

This might be better than the Trump show, remember Orson Wells' War of the Worlds, radio broadcast?

“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!”

And as the Maga  world embraces Luigi Mangione as hero,   Donald scores an own goal.

In another meandering news conference Monday, President-elect Donald Trump condemned fans of Luigi Mangione, who police allege shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on a New York City sidewalk weeks ago. (Mangione’s lawyer has said he will plead not guilty to all charges.)

Mangione has been celebrated by some as a folk hero. And that celebrity has clearly gotten under Trump’s skin.

During his news conference, Trump said:

I think it’s really terrible that some people seem to admire him, like him. And I was happy to see that it wasn’t specific to this gentleman that was killed. It’s just an overall sickness, as opposed to a specific sickness. That was a terrible thing. It was cold-blooded. Just a cold-blooded, horrible killing. And how people can like this guy is — that’s a sickness, actually...

Ooops!

Put me in the crowd that thinks Luigi is a folk hero. This CEO was caught up in dirty shit and had implemented an AI system that rejects 90% or so of most claims. These CEOs know people need medical treatment and are not going away, so why put them through this bullshit? Happy this guy got it and maybe a few more greedy CEOs need to go and then maybe you’ll see them starting to knock off their bullshit..? USA is the only developed nation without some sort of national health care plan for all. Our elected assholes have the best there is yet don’t want us to have it, why..? More importantly why do idiot Americans continue to vote against their own best interests..?

Your question, rephrased, may also sound like: when will the billionaires Americans keep on electing and re-electing finally do something about it?

Californians can look forward to strengthened patient protections under the new Physicians Make Decisions Act (SB 1120), authored by Senator Josh Becker (D-Menlo Park)*. This groundbreaking law ensures that decisions about medical treatments are made by licensed health care providers, not solely determined by artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms used by health insurers.

“Artificial intelligence has immense potential to enhance healthcare delivery, but it should never replace the expertise and judgment of physicians,” said Senator Becker. “An algorithm cannot fully understand a patient’s unique medical history or needs, and its misuse can lead to devastating consequences. SB 1120 ensures that human oversight remains at the heart of healthcare decisions, safeguarding Californians’ access to the quality care they deserve.”

Artificial Inteligency is a lunacy, an idiocy.

Nothing can be intelligent unless it is aware of itself. Even most intelligent dogs, cats, dolphins, will never ever get there to advise (let alone) command the humans.

Look at this: an independent (no sponsorship) IT Industry media outlet, theregister.co.uk, featured an article about Artificial Intelligence.

It read:

"There is no significant difference in survival rate whether you jump from a plane with a parachute or with a backpack. The experiment was conducted with jumps from a 50cm hight and confirmed that".
