Government funding bill - bipartisan Agreement. should pass yes?

Nope,  Musk say no. Donald in agreement post on "TruthSocial", someone copy and paste to "X"

So a new Government funding bill, amended to Musk's satisfaction goes to vote.

It failed, not only did it not have bipartisan support, it failed to reach the 2/3 majority required to pass, all the Dems bar 1 and 38 (ish) Republicans voted no.

It didn't even get a simple majority let alone the 2/3 majority required.

So who runs the world now? Biden is in his coffin, The Orange guy and the South African are not getting the support of Congress, so it remains to be seen if the Republicans will back Trump/Musk in enough numbers to do any governing.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk teamed up to scuttle a crucial government funding bill.

US president-elect Donald Trump hasn’t taken office yet, but already he and Elon Musk have put the US government on the brink of a shutdown.

Trump and the tech billionaire teamed up to rail against a bipartisan bill designed to keep the government funded past the deadline of midnight Friday (US time).

Trump warned that Republicans who voted for the package could have trouble getting re-elected because they would face primary challenges inside their own party.

“Any Republican that would be so stupid as to do this should, and will, be Primaried,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Musk also whipped up outrage with a stream of posts on X, which Kentucky Republican Andy Barr said caused his phone to ring off the hook with angry constituents.

Musk, who has been tasked by Trump to prune the federal budget, pressured Congress to reject the bill and said those who backed it should be voted out of office.

The US Congress has just two days to avert a partial government shutdown.

A bipartisan deal reached on Tuesday would have extended funding through March 14. However, Trump and his ally Musk appear to have stopped the bill in its tracks.

Without congressional action, the partial shutdown will begin on Saturday, disrupting everything from air travel to law enforcement in the days leading up to December 25.

Thread was started by another board member almost 15 years ago not Flash. Back then there was a high number of board members from the US which explains it's level of contributors. Recently there has been a lot of activity due to the recent election.

To single one board member out is pretty poor form.

Interesting to note, Flashermac was a Die hard democrat. Myself a very moderate Libertarian/conservative democrat, were about the only 2 Yanks here who were not serious right wingers. The rest were very much “…America can do no wrong…” types…many would be trump supporters…The worst 2 I recall were RogueYam and Young Farang…mainly because they were just so dimwitted…

I have always loved America. Spent there 3 years through my companies.

Stopped visitng this Board as there were only rants by FlasherMac. Mostly, only his posts with nothing to do with Thai.
There must be millions of sites on the net, why here?
I had a few conversations with him, as many said, he was a patient and cool head man. Good for places other than this Board. Not needed here.

What a load of bollocks, Flash very rarely posted on that thread and the posts that he did post he did make were only a small percentage of his overall posting figures.

Now if you had said Cavanami or Steve (Chocolate) who posted mainly on that thread and very rarely on other topics then you would have a point.

You could just as well blame Buffalo Bill, Coss, or even myself for “Killing the Board” since we were responsible for a similar amount of posts in that thread as Flash was.

Toxic posters will kill the board, and we all know who they are!
