      I tend to think you may be onto something here, as I mentioned before, we need a return to basics…what this board was all about when it first started.  I’m maybe the only American here and frankly even I don’t give a shit about what is going on here, not sure why it is so prolific on a Thai board..? Focus on Thailand and the region of South East Asia. Posts about other countries would be ok in relevant context, such as a trade policy with Thailand or some economic summit etc…but those cases would be limited.  So lock it down, delete or move to a different section..?

I kind of agree with Kong. As least this way it is confined to one thread. What also needs to be considered is nobody post FA in most other threads, this one has activity even though it isn't Thai related. The fact is has so much traffic may be due to the limited input elsewhere. Also Amerika has been in the spotlight lately for obvious reasons and more than likely will continue to be given the main attraction and his galaxy of flaws.

A man has driven a truck through a crowd of people in the US city of New Orleans, killing at least 15 and wounding at least 30 more.

The FBI says the driver was a 42-year-old army veteran from Texas, and an Islamic State flag was attached to the tow bar of his truck.

The driver died in a shootout with police, he was heavily armed and supposedly had several IED in his possession. FBI says they doubt he was acting alone… 

     The tesla at trump’s place in Las Vegas is also a cause for concern…the driver died in the fire…gasoline and fireworks were in the car…no ideas on this one yet…but the year is off to a start…frankly I am shocked we haven’t had more attacks here…

I watched Sicko over the break. Cannot understand how such a progressive nation had such a regressive health system. Don't really how Obamacare changed things but it appeared from the outside to be accepted by most.

Obama care isn’t really much…it basically implies a tax penalty if you don’t have medical coverage. So if you can’t afford it you get penalized on your taxes. But in most cases that is cheaper than even basic coverage so yeah… Obama care is basically hated by many and is wrongly blamed for increased medical fees/prices and higher insurance coverage. In 8 years since Obama, no president or party has come up with an alternative. The USA remains the only developed nation to NOT have national health coverage. Should I retire in 3 years, I will lose my company co paid insurance (I pay $500/mo for wife and I) and I alone will go on the crap government Medicare plan, wife will have no coverage. Coverage in Thailand is also expensive and from what I understand, difficult to use. Thus, I will either 1)pay for my medical as a retiree, which will eat up funds or 2) have only the crap Medicare coverage which is not good in Thailand where we will live or 3) have nothing and just pay as I go… Great system we have here but at least it isn’t “socialist” and I get to own an assault weapon!

I like our system. We have what's called an Income tests calculator.

It is used to calculate the medicare levy you pay based on your income. In some cases, it's zero based on your 'declared" income but it still allows you full access to the healthcare system. Low income earners and pensioners get capped medication. System has never let me down and both myself and my youngest son have spent time in the ICU.

I don't believe in and refuse to join private health here in Oz as it's a complete rip off.
