Shit, he was only a little older than me… I always wanted to see the Dead perform, but never did. I was never a huge fan although I enjoyed many of their tunes over the years. I’ve heard from others they were a great live band, perhaps somewhat like the Faces, which was the best live performing band I’ve ever witnessed. The remaining classic rock performers are dropping like flies. I’ve been expecting the obit for Keith Richards and Clapton for sometime as they have been such hard living fellas... The Stones already lost Charlie and Mick has had open-heart surgery. Of course, very sorry to learn of Bob's passing.

Saw the Dead over 100 times, great live band! Was a bit of a shock kinda like when Jerry died. I cannot believe Willie Nelson and Keith Richard’s are still going…

I reckon you are a fan… used to know a gal in a place I worked long ago in SCA, she followed the Dead from city-to-city on their tours for a time. Not sure how she managed to pay for it, but she wasn’t bad looking at all.. Think her name was Colette, cool chic, she was a drafter.

Yeah, my brother told me ol’ Willie is in his 90’s and he still smokes dope everyday, even owns a Corporate weed farm business – which in my book makes him a fucking crook (see my post The Return of Khun S-T pt-1). That said, he must be a tough old codger to still be around (like Richards).

I recently watched a video about the life of Eric Clapton – Goddamn!! His early life was so heartbreaking it nearly brought tears to my eyes. Then later, his 2 Y.O. son tumbles out a 20 story window in NYC. There’s much more, yet he’s still-kicking and probably worth over 300 million. What a wild story, catch it if you can!

Cheers!!

Robert Duval, who played Tom Hayden the adopted son in the God father and delivered the famous line “…I love the smell of napalm in the morning…” in Apocalypse now has died at 95.
