bust Posted September 18 Report Posted September 18 Some artists do their best work cooked. A couple of Australian artists who fit that mold were Adam Cullen RIP and Anthony Lister. I had a Cullen for a while but still have my Lister
Old Hippie Posted September 19 Report Posted September 19 What happened to your Cullen? Wonder what an original “Old Hippie” would go for on the open art market? Pen on paper, or acrylic or I pencil on iPad…?
bust Posted September 19 Report Posted September 19 Went to charity. Was an interesting story. It was painted with a disgraced Sydney police detective. Told the story of one of his alleged self defense shootings. An X was carved into the footpath as a tribute to the victim. His girlfriend was found some months later dead in a pond in a park. Adam is on the left. Won the The Archibald Prize an Australian portraiture art prize for painting, generally seen as the most prestigious portrait prize in Australia. But not for this 😀
