Whilst in Sukhumvit, my hostelry, on the room’s televisual extravaganza, showed me entertainment of bulls fighting (each other not matadors) and cock fighting.

I thought I’d been transported back to the dark ages.

Sounds like something Bust would be into….

Yes, no laundry service at Stable lodge, the massage shop up on the left as you head towards Sukhumvit,  before the 7/11  is your place.

I'm a lover not a fighter!

Hang on that's sounds incredibly incriminating 😳

Rooster fighting is huge in the Philippines with a big online betting industry.

When last in the PI, I stayed at the home of a well known breeder in Visaya. Several Pinoy coworkers are really into this and breed roosters here and occasionally attend events. Yes, the betting is intense. When we went to a fight at the aforementioned place, I got to throw out a rooster as a guest of hormone…some guy kept yelling “…Joe, Joe…” and giving me a sideways peace sign with his fingers (sounds gay I know) which was apparently a bet…he lost and ran off, I was willing to let it go, but those running the show, my host among them, said “…no way, we don’t run that kind of show…” and went after him…I got my money, about $50used and they got their cut and that guy was supposedly banned for a month…I recall betting on the May Thai fights in the old Lumpini and Rajadamdern, and Samrong etc…a lot of fun if you keep it small and pay up.

Not even Thais watch Thai TV anymore except for those mind numbing soaps which fortunately my wife also hates

Not sure if it made Thai network TV but we watched the Thai series “Bangkok Breaking” on Netflix. It was actually really good.

We do have Netflix in Thailand you know, and a damned sight cheaper than the USA as is our internet
