Coss
I've been mentioning The Marching Morons over the years, when referring to where the USA was headed. The movie "Idiocracy" and Cyril M. Kornbluth's short story "The Marching Morons," are very similar. Both Idiocracy and "The Marching Morons" share a central premise: over centuries, less intelligent people outbreed the more intelligent, leading to a future society dominated by low intelligence and cultural decline. In both works, a man from the present is put into suspended animation and awakens in a future dystopia where society has become overwhelmingly unintelligent. However, Kornbluth's story is darker and more satirical, while Idiocracy leans into broad comedy and avoids the more sinister implications of eugenics present in the original story. Idiocracy is not officially based on "The Marching Morons," but it clearly draws significant inspiration from Kornbluth's story and is widely acknowledged as a modern reimagining of its central concept. If we feel like we might have a brain, see the movie, read the story. --- Explanation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Marching_Morons Read https://www.gutenberg.org/files/51233/51233-h/51233-h Find "Idiocracy", where ever you normally get yer movies.
