And the protests are gaining impetus in San Francisco according to the news ticker on Aljazeera.

Hesgeth seems to be Trump's warning megaphone, - we'll send the military etc. etc.

Gavin Newsom has been repeatedly calling Trump "a stone cold liar" on international coverage.

This could be what finally flushes the dump…we can hope… Only coverage I am getting is BBC…I will try and see what happens in SFO… common tactic of law enforcement is “…wait until dark…” more difficult to get good video of abuse in the dark, and makes identifying particular cops liable/accountable…problem is, dump caused this, LAPD is kinda caught in the middle…if you look at some of these cops, they are very ill prepared for this, no helmets, rifles etc…

Forget the LA riots. I'm looking forward to the large-scale military Trump Birthday parade.

Experts estimate the tanks will do $100m plus damage to roads if it proceeds.

And just when you're launching riots across the land, how to protect the Whitehouse?

Oh! oh! pick me!   Send tanks to Washington, we can park them on the lawn. In case any protestors get any funny ideas.*

They told him that tanks at Mar-a-Lago was no good, due to mushy ground from the swamps etc.

* if this event takes place, we can look forward to it, not being "just a parade".

Just heard Trump say that Newsom is a horrible, no good, declined help, destroying the state, terrible man, refused water,  but - I sent the troops and now it's all fine, I sent billions of gallons of water...

 about 10 or 15,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools ? 1 pool = 660,000 US gal

  • The Marines are coming: Hundreds of troops from the US Marine Corps are headed to LA, where they'll join the National Guard, which was deployed on orders from US President Donald Trump to quell protests against his immigration crackdown.
  • California's not happy - the state will sue Trump in response - California's Governor Gavin Newsom called Trump's sending in the troops “an illegal act, an immoral act, an unconstitutional act.”
  • 'Come arrest me': The US President has suggested Newsom should be arrested over protests in LA over Trump's immigration crackdown, backing up comments from his immigration chief  Tom Homan who said anyone who obstructs immigration officers should be arrested - but said Newsom hadn't crossed the line. Newsom responded to Homan: 'He knows where to find me'.
  • What sparked this? Several sites have seen confrontations involving hundreds of demonstrators and federal law enforcement in the last two days. Tensions are high after a series of sweeps by immigration authorities, with the week-long tally of immigrant arrests in the city climbing past 100.
  • But can Trump actually send in the troops? The law is murky. Generally, federal military forces are not allowed to carry out civilian law enforcement duties against US citizens except in times of emergency. Trump invoked a legal provision allowing him to deploy troops when there is ”a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the US”.
