torrenova Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 In Europe, it is easy. I can pick a top end German brand, a mid range German brand, a Japanese brand or some esoteric or challenger brand but in Thailand, my £60k SUV suddenly costs £150k+++ and versions are limited. Only interested in new, pick up in Bangkok or Pattaya. No Chinese crap.
Coss Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 If you can get a Subaru, I swear by them, and it seems they share platforms with Toyota on some models (Toyota C-HR)
cavanami Posted February 12 Report Posted February 12 Very pleased with my new Foed Ranger, at least it was new 7 years ago and cost about 700K baht at the time. 1

Had my Forester for what seems like decades. Almost 350,000 kms and never misses a beat. Only thing I've replaced in the last 5 or so years is the alternator. Rain, mud or snow never let me down. Definitely would never buy a Cherry. Who remembers the famous Range Rover commercial on the ancient steps in China? 1
Coss Posted February 12 Report Posted February 12 I replaced my Forester of many years, with another Forester, because, the old one had been stolen and recovered, unharmed but reeking of Meth, so I lost faith in it and got a newer one. 1
bust Posted February 12 Report Posted February 12 In case you haven't seen it, watch Mark Higgins lap of the Isle of Man in his Subaru.......epic 1
Old Hippie Posted May 26 Report Posted May 26 We are looking at Toyotas…trying to decide which is best for us (in Thailand), Either an SUV such as the 4tuner or a Tacoma 4 door Pick up. 4X4 is a must Currently driving a 4Runner in the states, had a 1998 model which I loved and when it got totaled in a hit and run, I got a 2006, I prefer the 1998 for ruggedness and manual transfer case for the 4X4, but the 2006 is roomier and and more comfortable… We will go pre owned/certified maybe from the dealer, unless we can find a reliable private sale. Fuck prices are almost at USA levels…
bust Posted May 27 Report Posted May 27 Is Hybrid a thing in LOS. Never really thought about it. The RAV4 Hybrid is AWD.
