Coss Posted May 20 Report Posted May 20 I came across, Data Poisoning recently. The discussion gave me hope in the Hominid vs Ai argument. I've always said that there'll always be someone like me, who knows where the Ai is plugged in and how to turn off the power to it. Ergo, we hominids are ultimately safe. a definition: Data poisoning is a cyberattack in which malicious actors deliberately tamper with the training datasets of an AI or machine learning model. By injecting misleading, biased, or corrupt data, hackers manipulate the model’s learning process to cause incorrect predictions, embed hidden backdoors, or degrade overall performance post-deployment. _____ A nice example of this, is that of a guy who took all of his 22,000 songs in his music library and made copies of them with Homer Simpson's voice in place of the original song's vocals. All the meta data and titles etc, are the same. He then uploaded these to many multiple places on the web and Ai is presumably scraping them to include them it's "knowledge". Effectively this is "Noise", the user when accessing Ai, may ask for a Madonna song and then get one with Homer singing, the user might then not use that avenue again. As there are many folk doing this kind of thing across that range of data types, the Ai companies are going to have to devote time and resources to cleaning up their ill gotten gains in order to make out like bandits as they have been doing. Long term, this approach may not be consequential to the big Ai companies. But like the guys who started publishing pamphlets in a small way, back when the printing press was invented and when they were up against the established Religious and Elite knowledge hoarders, it's a small start and the birth of a democratic process.

LINK _____ I know a Judge who has adopted Ai for research, but the saving grace, is that the Judge then, checks the references and sources, it just saves him time seeking out the references and sources in the first place. T'were the general populace able, to check their own work derived from Ai, rather than just generating the Ai output at the press of a button and shouting "yay" and then sending it on un-read.....
bust Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 The thing that disturbs me more than anything is how algorithms can control the flow of information or in most cases misinformation. We live in a time where there are generations being spoon fed data which they generally just accept as fact. That's incredibly alarming. I have an X account which a media person I know, set up for me when I was raising funds to build schools for IDP on the Thai/Burma border. I had never really checked on it until recently. The disproportionate level of content is so blatant that you can understand why Trump was obviously so happy to do a deal with Musk knowing the outcome. All I see is an abundance of proposals with yes or no answers completely designed to bolster one group and completely discredit another. For example "Is Donald Trump the greatest President in US history" or "Should Trump be allowed to serve a third term". Then things like Jeff Daniels rant against Trump gets deleted from social media platforms. So basically a handful of people are controlling the information much of the world is consuming and with the stroke of a keyboard they can completely change the perspective of how what we see.
Coss Posted May 21 Author Report Posted May 21 Wot you said. 👍 And remember that the outcome of Eion Musk's time in the USA government was that he, with his boys, downloaded and kept all the data of the USA... Trump thought that would help Trump. Eion, despite his Cuntery, is very clever. And if anyone doesn't understand why Musk having all the data of the USA is problematic - thats's because they don't understand why Musk having all the data of the USA is problematic. It's a very big problem, it's a 'uuuge problem, the biggest problem in the history of problems, the biggest problem in the history of the USA, and a gift to the actors who are working for the dissolution of the USA . The scarier thing about Trump, is that he is stupid. You do not know anyone as stupid as Donald Trump. You just don’t. - Fran Lebowitz
Coss Posted May 21 Author Report Posted May 21 For clarification and for ease of understanding, for those of us, with comprehension deficits. "actors" means people who are behaving in a certain way, not folk who act in movies, plays and tv series...
