Packing it away there OH. Never been to Hua Hin however did meet a lady here in Sydney once who owned a bar there called Cheers. Still got her business card somewhere. Did spend a few days in Prachuap Khiri Khan which to be honest I could have stayed much longer.

Koh Takiab is the main Monkey temple, which has become kind of a thing now, they are renovating and making a larger ocean viewing area to accommodate the many tour groups that come to feed the monkeys. Monkey chow is 100THB a bucket for corn…(you can’t buy that much corn for 100THB at a market…) there is also a national park nearby with tons of Monkeys that greet you as you drive up, bring your own food to give them. Kinda cool to toss food to them and have them catch it.

Soi Bintabhat is the main “bar street,” lots of cool places on offer. Some decent though slightly expensive street foods on offer at times back there. We love an old Chinese shop there, around the corner from the big Wat on the main drag…will remember the name in a bit…the shot of the guy making coffee with all the condensed canned milk was taken there…very loud and busy, but worth a wait…

Our favorite seafood shop is in Cha’Aam, right on the beach, reasonable prices and always fresh. Also in Cha’Aam are a lot of pop up shops along the beach, especially at night, some interesting seafoods there as well.

If I had a say in the matter I’d probably choose to stay down there instead of Surin…both have the good points, Hua-Hin has fewer bad points…

Never leave your van door open. We had a company van when we visited and one time a new driver left the door open to enjoy the breeze ending up with a van full of monkeys who wanted to go back to Bangkok with us.

I had some very annoying tourists near me at the temple one day

So I bought three buckets of cut up bananas the food they then sold along with nuts.

Which I threw at the feet of the annoying tourists.

Who like a agic trick disappeared under a cloud of monkeys, climbing all over them, under them, around them

Was wonderful

The Monkees I always thought as a child would be great fun, growing up watching Tarzan movies

Reality is they a mini humans with an IQ of 50.

90% of the time annoying creatures.

(The monkeys not humans like some of the painters here with IQs of 50)

They'd learn smart things, like knocking over a can of coke to spill the drink and lap it up.

So being so smart one would climb up the tree pit the can on a branch knock it over so he wouldn't have to share the drink when it spilt on the tree trunk.

Of course the can falls to the ground and he gets nothing

Reminds me of MAGA supporters I realise now.

Think they are smart getting something but realty it's someone else who does.
