Thailand - International Disputes

Recommended Posts

Hun Sen has been using the Thai border for years to distract attention from more important problems at home. Looks like the Thais have learnt from him.

Hun Sen is a total prick, but he is so much better than those who went before him. As one of the Cambodian-Australians who fled Pol Pot said in an interview recently 'If politicians here fight, they can still laugh about it - in Cambodia, they would take out a gun and shoot their opponent'. I've expressed my dismay here previously at the fact that the rest of the world let it happen, but how many of us know what is going on in North Korea right now ?

We like to tell ourselves that certain countries will never revert to military dictatorship, but 'never' is a very long time. Gotta love this para from the Wikipedia entry:

Hun Sen is married to Bun Rany. They have six children, 3 sons and 3 daughters: Manet, Mana, Manit, Mani, Mali and Malis. In October 2007, Hun Sen made a surprise announcement at a graduation ceremony, in front of an audience of nearly 3000, that his adopted daughter was a lesbian. He had taken legal steps to disown Malis and to prevent her from receiving any inheritance. Nonetheless, he asked the audience to accept homosexuals

Yes, simple Replican 101 tactics.. Cause a war, get people concentration outside the country and you can do whatever you please within the country. Why do you think wars are around....

Agree that this is a common tactic. But in this case it doesn't seem to be working. The Cambodian strongman might get something out of this, but it seems to have badly backfired on the Dems.
