An M-79 grenade was fired at the Daily News newspaper’s headquarters on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road last night.

No one was injured.

The attack happened at 9 pm and the grenade landed on the ground between two buildings, causing a hole. Bomb fragments also hit the buildings and damaged an air compressor.

Police suspected the grenade was fired from a pedestrian flyover or the Don Muang Tollway

The newspaper’s editor Apichai Rungruengkul said he was working when he heard a loud boom, thinking it was explosions of electricity generator. Security guards informed him later that it was a grenade attack.

This is the second time that the paper was attacked, he said. The first was on January 30 when two M-79 grenades landed at an old building of the newspaper.
