Ah, now we have common ground on this stuff - absolutely: sneaky-eyed, perfidious, pilfering bull in the China shop.

But isn't what's going on right now the ultimate fiddle? When the law is martial, sure, you don't need to do anything 'extra-legal' because the whole concept of meaningful law is gone. Everyone on that list benefits to greater or lesser degrees on a political patronage system that is right now being enforced through use of the military, because it was being threatened by repeated democratic exercises. Just becomes some one is "populist" hardly means they're doing something wrong, and if you can last as a populist for over a decade of elections, it can't be all bad... Anyway... we all have a right to express our opinion, I suppose - unless we're Thai, I mean.

All of this confirms one of the primary rules about visits to Thailand: Do NOT bring your wife or girlfriend.

The doctors will use the seamen to try and identify the culprit and compare the DNA samples collected from the bodies with those from the suspects.
Are we back to Burmese boat crews, or is this a new set of seamen who will help compare DNA samples?!
Christopher Alan Ware... Guilty or innocent, once authorities start using all three names for you, you're pretty much f*cked...

I suspect that those who include political reasons in the suicide - like the 911 guys, and perhaps like this pilot, too, if he was protesting Anwar's treatment - would probably come up smelling roses on a psych eval, since they are confident in their motivations and aims, feeling very self-assured and fulfilled in the meaning of their lives.

So which political boss has that kind of money?
It really does look like some multi-millionaire political bosses pull many of the strings behind all factions in LOS, and the ordinary pawns don't know it.
Certainly true... this one probably #10 on the Richest Thais list, T. The others put their money on yellow-green, and that bet is coming up a winner for many decades.

Wow, I will at least give her credit for having the balls to do that - take off your shoes first, and jump? Sad but impressive... I could blame the farm if children were falling in due to their lack of precautions, but suicide by adults committed to get in there? Can't stop that - or shouldn't be expected to.

Are you still a specialist? I'd thought you'd surely be a sergeant by now.

Not if he keeps running off to BKK all the time - that habit has implications on career trajectory, I'm afraid...

Hi,
I guess that is what you get for stealing copyrighted material.
Sanuk!
From what I've seen on Suk and at Panthip, the rule is that if it involves foreign women or Thai ladyboys, copyright does not apply...

Hi,
Thing is, these people would come anyway, so if the Army made it easier for them to get registered (instead of being here illegal), isn't that a good thing?
"I'd be checking to see if any fishing boats were around at the time."
Good point.
Sanuk!
Why is the army getting credit or criticism for the registration of migrants? That is a Thaksin project, circa 2004, I seem to remember registration of a couple million from MYA, CAM, LAO, some bitching about them having to pay a fee for health insurance and so on - I guess that project has continued to date in various forms.

Cost of price supports to farmers: 400 billion baht
Unexplained additional "piled up" cost: 300 billion baht
Cost of current and coming years of military dictatorship with unfettered expenditure and no civilian or elected oversight: Priceless!

Sorry to say, uniformed or otherwise, I've never seen six Colombian women so unattractive. Keep your girls off the bike, dads - it turns 'em fugly!

BBC is reporting that the Thai police are looking for Burmese because they can't believe that a Thai could do such a thing.
And they are not looking for a Lao or Cambodian because Lao/Cambo are too lazy to do such a thing...

I like the Santa's Little Helper outfits, very nice. And that octopus - I have some vague memory of that creature tentacle-fucking Jade Marcela, but maybe that's from a dream rather than a memory...

If not for Burmese, Nigerians, and perpetrators who "fled the scene" nary a Thai case would close!

Are the foreign gangs putting the Thai gangs out of business?
They seem to find a remarkable level of coexistence, you'd think the Thai would really defend their turf but looks like they are ready to take a slice and allow many to operate. Not many countries would put up with the visible level of foreign organized crime you sometimes notice, but hey, Amazing Thailand.

Or failing that, it was a British friend who left the island already. In short: Anyone but a Thai!

Why not just push it off a balcony and call it suicide?

One good way to know for sure that your barfine was a kathoey is to find an apparently used maxi in the bathroom bin. Don't ask me how I know this...

Someone came to steal my truck...the truck is a beater...they left a 1000 Baht donation so I could buy a better truck
Did he leave it discreetly on your bedside table? Maybe just "money for taxi"...

I've always assumed there were entities around that area at that time of night to ensure things remained at least somewhat civil... apparently I've been wrong about that.
Adroit if dubious use of the term "splashboard"...

There are 800 anti-terror police in Sydney and Brisbane? No wonder there haven't been big events since the Bali bombings, the anti-terror units must be gigantic!
