  1. In US, we have a concept called the trickle down theory (initiated during the Reagan presidency) where you give the money to the rich and it will trickle down to the poor.  I'm afraid most of the stimulus money will go to the rich.  It's a good thing that Trump is helping the lower income folks like me by trying to raise the check amount from $600 to $2000.  The rich will probably get a lot more.

I didn’t vote for Trump in the last two elections. But, if you take away all the rhetoric and just concentrate on concrete benefits you were provide by the Federal Government during the past four years, Trump starts looking better.  I'm better off financially since Trump became president, for example.  Maybe history will be kinder to Trump.

Trump Wants $2,000 Stimulus Checks; Threatens to Sink Stimulus Bill

Trump wants to increase the $600 Stimulus Checks to $2,000 --  an example of why Trump looks better if you take away all the rhetoric and just concentrate on concrete benefits you were provide by the Federal Government during the past four years.  I can definitely use the additional money.

[but it's not real, just a rhetorical con move by Trump, you say? 55555]

  3. Last March, just before the Covid restrictions, I was about to leave for the Caribbean. I was sneezing, coughing, and had a runny nose and a fever. I thought I had Covid. So, I canceled everything. But it turned out that the old mercury thermometer was inaccurate. No fever, just a seasonal allergy. Had I gone, I probably would have been stranded in the Caribbean for a while, because a few days later, there were major Covid restrictions in place.

  4. I gave up driving last year.  Too much hassle.  I will get another car when they develop a reliable fully autonomous car, the kind that you only have to give the address of the destination, and it does the rest.  I will probably be dead before it’s developed.

Because he isn't really concerned about this election, he's laying the groundwork for the next.

Trump is undermining his chances for a comeback by being a sore loser.

    https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/karl-rove-trump-refusal-accept-election-results-americans-dont-like-sore-losers-052334684.html

"Karl Rove on Trump’s refusal to accept election results: Americans 'don’t like sore losers'"

“If his goal is to lay the predicate to come back in 2024 and run again, he’s helping himself at least gain the nomination. But I think in the long run he’s not helping himself or the country,” Rove said. “America likes comebacks, but they don’t like sore losers and he is on the edge of looking like a sore loser, and probably will look like it after January 6th.”

One of the arguments they used was that Trump can´t have lost this one because because Hillary lost last time. The judges must have got a bad stomach reading this bullshit.

  7. Trump seems to be  undergoing the Chinese torture of thousand cuts.  Instead of just losing once at the election, he's losing many more times with these election lawsuits.  He brought this on himself.  Could he be a closet masochist?

Prepare for next outrage, I wonder what Trump will do next...

What could happen if he takes the recommendation of Flynn to suspend the constitution and declare martial law to re-run election?

  9. Netflix's Dick Johnson is Dead

A surprisingly good movie.  It  won big at the fifth annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards. Dick Johnson is Dead won Best Documentary Feature and Best Director for Kristen Johnson.

It's supposed to be a documentary but comedy is more like it.  Before the movie is over you could be ROFL.

Trump, as you know, is a demagogue, defined as a  rabble-rouser who gains popularity by exploiting emotions, prejudice, hatred, and ignorance to arouse the common people.  He's not about being rational.

  11. So far about 300k deaths in US from Covid (less than 0.1 % of population), much less than what was initially projected of 1 - 2 million.  I’m willing to bet we’ll never reach  a million with all the vaccines on the way.

  12. According to some, people with asthma, type O blood, along with those who take melatonin, have better chances of surviving covid.  Melatonin is also suppose to help people with sleep problems.  But, in my case, I didn't have sleep problems until I started taking melatonin a few days ago. Now, I'm waking up several times during the night.  I have asthma and type O blood, so I'm thinking that, along with melatonin, maybe I will survive long enough until I can get jabbed.

Oh I understand, the post I made was a meme, for the idiots who don't understand, vis the IQ/Moron part.

SO: to lead them in, they see the first part of the meme and they shout Yeah! fist pumping! in their MAGA hats.

Then they see the second part and wonder what it means...

There is also a spike in Covid deaths here in USA that is not related to increased testing.  Is that too hard to understand? I agree that increase in testing can increase the number cases but not deaths.

What surprised me was that people with Covid in Canada are twice as likely to die than in USA.  I thought the Canadians had a better healthcare system.  Sorry to say, it looks like Britons with Covid are FIVE times more likely to die, according to Johns Hopkins.  https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/08/05/899365887/charts-how-the-u-s-ranks-on-covid-19-deaths-per-capita-and-by-case-count
