Fatbastard
quote: this is my final post on this thread- i'm actually sorry i started it- i've always thought the purpose of these boards was to share experiences with others in the hope that board members would then enhance the state of the information- instead this thread became an series of useless arguments on whetrher you can cancel a ticket after checking in- if you check my other posts you'll see that i don't mess around- but this will be my last - back to lurking- so long gentlemen Oh Dear, another one's spat the dummy, never mind somehow we will get by. aussiedoug
Rictic, Based on simple observation. 1.You have to check in and get a board pass 2.You go and get your tax stamp 3.Go through immigration..oh yes...with a bodgie board pass...notice how this came into the story later..of course the customs blokes don't have any idea what a fake is 4.You then go duty free shopping 5.You then have to find a way from the dept level to the arrivals level, but you ring on the phone and cancel your flight, but they can see that you have checked in?, but they give you a refund anyhow..sure??? 6.You are still looking for the way to the arrivals area. There is none...oh yes..you find the same guy who sold you the board pass and he shows you the way. 7.The boarding count does not add up,the airline is looking for you.You are the only passenger that has not checked in. 8.The passenger manifest that most airlines send in advance to arrivals(assume you found the secret stairway) does not have your name on it, and you are not in the immigration computer. Too many airy fairy ideas in this one. Try this and you will end up in the slammer. Unauthorised entry to a secure area, that's almost a terrorist act in some countries. Defrauding the revenue of duty on your shopping and causing delay and cost to an airline, but if he is a gold member flyer they will just grin and bear it..sure! It is pure fantasy, this guy has never tried it, and I doubt he has ever really looked at an airport while he was walking through it.
Guest
Rictic, Based on simple observation. 1.You have to check in and get a board pass ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Correct 2.You go and get your tax stamp +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Correct 3.Go through immigration..oh yes...with a bodgie board pass...notice how this came into the story later..of course the customs blokes don't have any idea what a fake is ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Not necessarily a bodgie one. But they are available and it's immigration not customs. The boarding pass is a genuine one with bodgie flight details. Did you lnow there is an availability of FALSE tickets that you can travel on? Counterfeit Tickets (FBI) 4.You then go duty free shopping ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If you wish too. The shops are there. illegal but then the process you ar planning on is as well. 5.You then have to find a way from the dept level to the arrivals level, but you ring on the phone and cancel your flight, but they can see that you have checked in?, but they give you a refund anyhow..sure??? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Not that difficult to find your way there are a number of staircases. There are telephones available in transit and if you phone within BKK you can call for free. You have not flown so you are entitled to a refund. ASK your travel agent about refunds specifically ask if you can cancel and get a refund after checking in. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 6.You are still looking for the way to the arrivals area. There is none...oh yes..you find the same guy who sold you the board pass and he shows you the way. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ As stated there are stair cases IN THE PUBLIC AREA. If your not blind or stupid you should be able to find them. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 7.The boarding count does not add up,the airline is looking for you.You are the only passenger that has not checked in. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Why are they looking for you? Have you forgotten that you phoned up and cancelled after checking in. _______________________________- 8.The passenger manifest that most airlines send in advance to arrivals(assume you found the secret stairway) does not have your name on it, and you are not in the immigration computer. Too many airy fairy ideas in this one. Try this and you will end up in the slammer. Unauthorised entry to a secure area, that's almost a terrorist act in some countries. It is pure fantasy, this guy has never tried it, and I doubt he has ever really looked at an airport while he was walking through it. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ No body checks your name against the manifest, unless you have severely brought attention to yourself. as stated there are no hidden stairways they are in your view and you are allowed to use them. I do get the feeling that some of the posters here are the very people that have to touch something when there is a Wet Paint sign on it and probably think that Neil Armstrong never went to the moon, he was really in a studio in Hollywood. The guy gave information of something to educate people and gets shit over it. Just because you don't know something doesn't mean it isn't true or possible. I'm not advising people to do this, it is illegal, but it is possible and is being done by some people.
Fatbastard
The fact is the the proponents of this "spinner" crap are proposing an illegal act and additionally proposing that you indulge in a bit of smuggling while doing so. Why Take the risk ? like all the smart arses that got caught up in the illegal share trading scheme today. ENJOY YOUR TIME IN THE SLAMMER GUYS!! Guest
Does this now mean that you admit it is possible to do this and that you can probably walk in between the arrivals and departures in the airport without any special pass.
buddy_guy
In your past life you guys must have been the guys who believed the world was flat. How did you find your way to Thailand. I can vouch for Tanya's integrity and feel sorry for your ignorance. you believe so much of the crap submitted by lot of ugnorant souls on this board and miss the point of someone trying to give some info that may be useful to a few people. Go back to the bullshit on the newbie post boards if you want some useful stuff.

pattaya127
Buddy, sorry but the answers were not crystal clear. WE know tickets can be refundable, how about after check-in? he still did not answer clearly. he is talking about BKK envy, when actually the scam is to be run from BKK airport, if i understood. Now, what he said is "old News", ie. not good anymore, airline personal will sell you a pass for a fee. Which airlines? Any clerk from any international airlines? just go to them and they'll oblige? I mean, that's where one would really need to know. he talks like he does it all the time, but did not mention it on his first post. Sorry, much more questions than answers. that was the problem, not that i would not believe him otherwise. Last: Airheads at the departure? Why this constant defaming remarks about thai people on this board (last week, they were fuckwits)?
Fatbastard
Maybe possible, maybe not, maybe its possible to stick a few feathers up my arse and achieve free flight, never tried it. I like living in Thailand so make sure that I obey the laws of the land, rigourously. In addition I don't encourage others to break the law. Guest
Hi Fatbarstard I would agree with you on that, not the feathers up the arse bit but keeping within the law. (I wonder if the feathers bit is illegal?)
