mongatu
[Moderator: Please move this thread if it is in the wrong place.] I'm staying in Pattaya for a while and am looking for a gym with weights to work out in. Would be great to find a place that had some Eliptical Cross Training machines (e.g., Precor FX), but that is probably asking too much. Any recommendations? Also interested in any suggestions for places to hang out during the afternoons.
MaiLuk
Universal Gym on beach road. If you started walking from Soi 8 its about 50 meters past Soi 9 120 baht per day, don't know the monthly rate. A good range of free weights and machines, it was set up by a world class body builder. Don't know about the machines you asked for, I just use the machines and don't check the name :: Warning: It is hotter than hell in the place. mongatu
Just checked it out. Pretty nice set up but you are right, it is hotter than hell in there. Really affects my motivation to work out. Not sure I want to put up with it.

Belem
Horizontal jogging is the best exercise you can do in Pattaya...LOL. I heard Royal Garden has good work out equipment, especially cardio. There's also a gym at the end of Walking Street that's been given high marks by other people but can't remember the name. MaiLuk
The way I look at is the guys who live in PTY and work out at universal gym regularly have gotta be in good shape. Adjusting to that heat is no cake walk. If i lived there i would force myself to adjust. Here in the US my gym is ice cold of course and the PTY workout every few months does come as a shock to the system.
