Immigration website 3.4 A person born outside the United Kingdom (see Note 1) after 1 January 1983 is a British citizen if, at the time of his birth, his father (see Note 2) or mother was: a) a British citizen otherwise than by descent; or a British citizen by descent and was in: (i) Crown service, or (ii) Community institution service, or (iii) service specially designated by the Secretary of State as being closely associated with the activities of the United Kingdom government JP Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sayjann Posted June 15, 2006 Report Share Posted June 15, 2006 yes. many of my Filipino Friends have had kids while living here and the kids have dual citizenship. and after 5 Years residing and working here the Parents can apply for permanent residency. this means they can be entitled to all the benifits i am allowed. bbull Posted June 16, 2006 Report Share Posted June 16, 2006 well. yes. if the mother is British and father Thai yes, if the father is british and mother Thai if they are married if brit father is not married then no except there is a new concession that allows you to ask permission of UK govn for them to be British, has to be done before kid is 18, 20k baht application fee.
