Flashermac
What I was worried about has happened - my tank of cooking gas has run out, great timing. I've called for another, but the suppliers are overloaded. At least I still have electricity. My cooker has 4 gas burners and one electic. Thank God for that. Flashermac
I got a new bottle of gas late this afternoon, after they checked to see that the roads weren't underwater.

Torneyboy
The lack of information appears to be panicking people ..we arrived yesterday and our condo complex is well prepared .A large two metre sea wall at the front and many levels to be breached to even get close to the building...(we are on the Chao Phraya river) My wife's family and friends are telling us we should move away ..all 7/11s around us (5) are all but empty of products ..we tried many supermarkets(Big C etc) to buy water ...all gone ..panic is setting in ..and yep we are off now to Hua Hin.(under protest but out numbered)..until information is clear or the place is under water.. WorldFun
well in fact despite various reports about the tap water recently started smelling foul or looking yellowish or brownissh - it's still up to WHO standards as safe drinking water although it may not taste brilliant! most people though prefer to install filters/cleaners or buy mineral waters, but given the issue with the latter well... on foods & other essientials well I heard don muang would be used as a major retail warehouse from tomorrow so that should hopefully improve in the situation since existing warehouses mainly at wang noi which is inundated since weeks aren't delivering no more supposedly the local shops & markets with less dependence on major distribution centers are coping better so try them out
