waerth
http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/price-one-plate-meal-go-5-10-baht-per-plate/ The Internal Trade Department is to revise up the prices of ready-made or instant food by 5-10 baht to 30-35 baht per plate, said the department’s director-general Mr Somchart Soithong on Wednesday. He attributed the need for price adjustments to rising price of cooking gas which will increase by six baht per kilogramme by August. The prices of meat such as pork and vegetables have increased due to drought which has impact on two food items. The price of pork in some markets has gone up to 160-165 baht per kg which is above the 150-155 baht/kg ceiling set by the pig board, said Mr Somchart adding that ex-farm price has been set at 78 baht/kg. However, he said that the price of cooking oil is gradually returning to normal as the amount of palm oil has increased to 170,000 tonnes due to new harvests of oil palm seeds. Flashermac
"ready-made or instant food..." And just what the hell does that mean? Are they talking about street vendor food? That has already gone at least 5 or 10 baht from last year.
